Hologram Concerts

Post by ken »

Hey All,
Sam and I have talked about this a bit because I was interested in seeing the Roy Orbison Hologram concert. Sam was concerned that there is enough competition for musicians without it including dead ones. I just read another article about someone who attended an opera performance. What are your thoughts on these holograms in concert?

Here's the company that makes them: https://basehologram.com/

Here's the recent article I just read: https://www.npr.org/sections/deceptivec ... s-hologram

FYI: Amy Winehouse is next on the list...

Seems like a fancy cover band to me, just with a better lightshow than usual. So whatever.

I'm with Dweezil Zappa on this one. Especially when it comes to artists which would probably been appalled to know that they were being turned into intangible puppets for pure profit by those who had nothing to do with their works. (Like, uh, Frank Zappa.)
