So it’s Sunday and my daughter decided to write and record her own entry. I’m going to send it in, because she asked me to.

It’s her first ever song.

Thanks everyone for being the kind of place that makes this feel like an okay idea.

Did she record and mix and stuff all on her own? What instrument/s? I’m so curious!

All software instruments on the iPad. The only thing I was allowed to do was bounce to mp3. I wasn’t consulted for any of it.

I had to beg to even get an early listen.

How old is she? I've been trying to coax my son into entering but I'm not quite sure he quite grasps musical composition yet. He's also 5, and likes to remind me "dad, I'm an ARTIST" while he doodles 5 million robots.

After a few years wandering around in lurkerland I’ve finally gotten my act together to submit a song. It’s in a genre I’m not so familiar with, but the title sort of lead me to it

She’s eleven. She’s been sneaking around recording additional vocal tracks on most of my stuff for he past few months (usually after they’ve been published), but this time found her own melody and her own personal experience to turn into song.

I was hoping to expand something I've been working on for Novembeat into an entry for this fight, but instead I got stuck listening to one part of it looping for ages and didn't finish anything for either challenge 👍

Ha! I think you just described maybe 70% of my time making electronic stuff. Then again there's probably a reason why so much techno is basically just a cool sounding loop with someone twisting knobs for 5 minutes...

I made it, even after accidentally deleting half of my finished vocal tracks.

Emerging from our hibernation, Mandibles are in! If it's not too late, that is. It's likely our ASMR is not "real," but I have fun mixing it together. Close female harmonies always give me chills, so it's ASMR to me!

I think I spent more time on this than any song fight song I've done before, so much time that I'm like almost 2 days late! but the songs aren't up yet so I hope it's all good. just sent it in!

I'd say it was unfair cause I always submit before the deadline........

But it's not I don't care all I want are good tunes, take all the time you need if it means we get better tracks! :)

If only life agreed with our creative schedules. Can I call in "I need to finish this idea so I don't forget it and so we can finish it before the deadline?" Is there a work code for that?
