Re: I definitely know it (Secret Handshake prefight)
When someone says "two chords at the same time" I tend to think of that as a keyboard way of thinking, where I know some people don't, for example, think Fmaj9, instead they think "Fmaj triad (F A C) on the left hand and Cmaj (C E G) triad on the right hand." As a guitar player, that seemed nonsensical to me, but I can see how it might be easier to remember/conceptualize instead of having the think about every note each hand is playing.
OTOH, for soloing/linear playing, thinking about stacking chords can be super useful as a way of organizing how you're playing so it doesn't just sound like running scales, which can be an issue if you're trying to play a really complex arpeggio or something I guess.
But yeah, I agree that there are other (maybe better) ways to describe it theoretically, but practically "two chords" can be a good way to organize extended chords.

I don't think my "overlay non-tonal sound sources" really fulfills the criteria. Oh well, looking forward to hearing what people came up with!
I'm afraid this one fails on pretty much every level for me. - Jim of Seattle

But I assume you are playing your soups in a playlist or else one soup is in the verse and the other is in the chorus, not pouring them into a single bowl and saying to people that they’re eating two soups at the same time....?

My mum makes a tomato-and-basil and a leek-and-potato and serves them half and half in the same bowl, it's magic. I wish I'd been reminded of this earlier so I could have shoehorned it into the most tenuous "two chords, two soups" Secret Handshake song ever written.

Re: I definitely know it (Secret Handshake prefight)
thank you, we got home around 11 pm last night, and as it turns out, it WAS a blood clot, but not the dangerous deep vein kind that can cause a pulmonary embolism, so they just sent us home with an order for him to take ridiculous amounts of ibuprofen and use a hot compress until it resolves itself.
In other news, I didn't finish the song idea I had. (And I had the same conceptual complaint as Jim about the challenge, but if I'd had the time I guess I probably would have fulfilled it with different instruments playing overlapping chords to make it clear what the "two chords" were while still being listenable.)
This is about as related as soup, but I just recently learned about a newly invented (~2010) Singaporean poetic form called twin cinema (after the New Pornographers, I think!) the other day and it makes me think of this. What would this sound like? Maybe Zaireeka? (which I don't think I've ever actually listened to.)

You know that one of the great things about Chinese hot pot is that you can get it in the Yin Yang cauldron, which is half one soup and half a different soup, and with a divider that splits the cauldron in halves. That is sort of like two soups, one cauldron, yet they are not mixed at all (missoupgenation?)

There's a physical divider in the pot though, so I think you're getting into some semantic issues over whether that really counts as "same bowl." Also, now I want hot pot. Mmm, fish balls...

Yes, basically all I was really trying to say is: fish balls
