It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it. No-one else is stepping up to the plate :)

Uhm, what you sense is irony ...

Wow. That sucks. I do not condone this.
boltoph wrote:Somebody check the policy on rape! (could've so easily been "somebody stop this policy of rape")
Yeah, I considered fudging the lyrics to include the title phrase, but it doesn't make much sense and in a song where the lyrics are trying to say something I didn't feel like cheapening it. But you've mentioned it twice, so I'll point out this:

Did it. None of this variation nonsense either.

Aw man I wasn't knocking your song, it was a good song. It could have so easily been slightly different, which illustrates your point, exactly.

But I think you meant a "variation" of the title.

When I say Narcissism I sure mean you guys as much as anyone else, esp. because of said "pimping". I sorta think the winner would've been the same, regardless though.

Not an excuse for what I did, but just a subject of my own curiosity:

Total votes for "What's in it for me?": 83
Total votes for "Crossroads": 84
Total votes for "I'm not Impressed": 65

Total votes for "Policy of Rape": 70

Question: Did my pimping scheme bring any more voters then usual?

Actually Puce my opinion is NOT the FAQ.

You wrote a variation of the title, to the point where even the song title in my MP3 player says the song's called "Policy on Rape". It says that on that other page where your song was promoted, too. Suck it.

Gotcha. We simply have a different opinion of what counts as 'based on'.

Dan-O from Five-O wrote: His Name is Dan: I listened to this song and it’s story all the way through before I typed a word of this review. Usually I will listen, type some notes to edit later, and go back and do the review. This song I listened from front to back, and then found this to say. I’m not sure if you’re writing from experience or not, but this story disturbs me. Most people write from some sort of personal experience and / or views, and this story bothered me a lot. It should be easy for you to dispel my thoughts later, but what bothers me is the “beer slut” lyric, and the fact that she woke up with someone else later. My hope is that you were at best, the someone else. My guess is you weren’t. Call me Dr. Dan-o but I think some therapy beyond the confession I suspect was made here is in order.

Beyond that diatribe, I’m not sure what the snare intro was about except perhaps the intro count. I haven’t heard this much hiss since cassettes. I’m embarrassed your name is Dan. On the positive side the guitar was recorded fairly well, a little too much bass, but not all bad. The violin was appropriate. That’s all I have to say about that.
no, no, no!!! THIS IS NOT PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. "beer slut" is the common term used on my campus for girls who go to parties, get tanked beyond belief, not fun, social drinking, and then have sex with just about anyone. it's actually quite disgusting. i go to one of the big party schools, though i'm not much of a partyer myself. i really don't even drink. i just thought of "beer sluts" and parties when i thought of rape. i wanted to write from the perspective of a guy who gets turned down by one of these individuals. i just thought that was kinda funny. so yes, i probably do need therapy, but not for the reason originally described in your review. i just have a sick sense of humor, but at the same time i knew that it's really sad. no reason to fear me or be embarrassed that my name is dan.

i would've responded to this sooner had i not been out of town and in a house whose internet access has been taken away by a nasty thunder storm.
