My point, exactly. See my review of Eggsickle.

That must then put me up by 0.035 over everyone else (apart from Ross) for my one review, which overall gives me a score of -4.965 for submitting an instrumental (Though this one is relevant right? I think it sounds pretty regal). Hopefully I'll do some more reviews before it's all over.

I tried to do reviews on Monday morning at 8:30ish and had so much trouble downloading the files, I finally gave up. Doesn't seem to be a problem on this end--server problems?

My solution was to let the podcast download overnight, then I listened off of my computer. But I appreciate the mirror, too.

I like the mirror with the individual tracks. I still have issues with streaming to my Itunes sometimes. 8)

wow there are a lot of great songs in the bunch. i couldnt get to them all but i will try.
here are some reviews now.

Before picture-I like the melody and the GnG…I don’t like the deeper voice ( king me king me ), coulda done completely without that. It sounds to me like may have been too close to the mic when you recorded the vox, but other than those minor things it’s a pretty good tune.

BLT-I like it from the start, classic BLT style, driving bass and punk rock vibe. Cant really understand the words but with a song song like this you don’t really need to. Its fun to listen to and well put together.

Booty chesterfield trio
- I cant understand the words, I like the music a lot. I love the changes. the song seems longer than it actually is for some reason. All in all a solid tune IMO. I like the vox, just wish they were a bit louder or cleaned up a touch.

C Hack-hometown country song with political over tones, great voice, tight structure. All rolled up together with the subject matter I think this song is a contender to win for sure. Awesome…reminds me of modest mouse in some places in the vocal melody, but im sure it wasn’t intentional.

DB Collective- diggin the funk…disco style done the way it used to be…still not my thang but It works for what you probly wanted. I don’t really get the lyrics…or maybe I just don’t like the lyrics. Music is great and the vox arent bad ,but the story in the song is not interesting. Enough to listen to more than once.
Sweet lead guitar.

Doorite- skip.

DDD-oh Yah!! Love the inrto, vox come in muddy. Man if these vox were cleaned up this would be a great deal better IMO. I love the feel of the music, the drums are simple but great! I really like the song. Vox are a muddy. The backward phasing ( or whatever that is ) at the end makes a killer ending.

Eggsickle-this sounds really well put together production-wise. Its not a style I usually listen to, but its done really well and there is no reason not to like it.

Finding Nemoy-like the driving rythem guitar, and the lyrics. And the vox..but it needs a change and also a bass and a ripping lead in the middle. Oh and drums would sound really nice in there.

Henrietta- you have an amazing voice. The music bridge sounds like it needs something else the make it stand out before you go back into the verse. I don’t know if this will be a contender, but It certainly is a great song!!awesome voice, love the vocal melodies!!

Hostess mostess
- wow this sounds a little like a song prince might have made, in a good way. I don’t listen to prince on purpose, but this song just reminds me of him, not like a copy but just the style. Sweet production. I love the instrumention, my speakers are full of interesting and perfectly blended sounds. Vocals are perfect. Great use of doubling. Great song. This one is in the top 3 so far, but there are still like 600 more songs to listen to, but I have a feeling its going to stay up there.

Jim Tyrell- I really like the intro, don’t like the guitar tone you used there but I really love where you went with the song as it broke into the music. Awesome music by the waty. Very impressive song. Another very well produced song. Everything is right on the money.

Luke Henley
- you put so much thought into your lyrics as usual, but the melodies are just too repetive to enjoy the whole time. I cant really say I love it, but I don’t hate it. You do have a way with words.

Mc eric B- Its okay for the style. I don’t like self promoting rap, even if it is nerdy.

MCRT-okay another rap song in a row just like that. Im not going to “ step” to this. Its good for nerd self promoting rap.

Melvin- don’t know what to say other than enjoy another Melvin hit song. You are such a consistant musician! The vocals in this sound par-ticklerly great .Keeper. Id like to see you win with this but with so many songs in this fight its hard to predict what will happen.

Next bedtime- drifty and nice. I like he subtle layers. Nice sounding voice although it may be a touch too loud in the mix.

Outta no way-I don’t know how every rapper can be the best ever…Its impossible I think, I don’t know.
Sounds like a song that oust the mods would write.

To be continued.

wow, i guess we are all hungry for some fresh meat in this thread

i didnt mean he stole from modest mouse, one little part in the vocal melody reminded me of one of their songs. ive had my face chewed off for a much much worse song accused of ripping off modest mouse.
i didnt mean for it to sound like i was accusing c hack of that.

Ok, I really don't think this needs to be said, but for the record, my entry is a parody of Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land."

just for the record i do officially feel like an idiot now. i listened to it again and there is no excuse not to catch on the first listen. so i wont make any.
but the part i was talking about was the " low rent equity " sounds like a line from " the good times are killing me " from modest mouse. so i guess that would mean that modest mouse copied woody guthrie...and again, sorry for being music historically challenged.

No no, the bridge (I'm king of...) is all mine (or at least, mine and Modest Mouse's), as is "Cause if I said it would save five..." and the changeup at the end. Woody Guthrie does:

"This land is your land...
From...
From...
This land was made for you and me"

three or four times and that's it. So I did bring something to the table.

Also, it's not so much about George Bush as the "Man" in general, but take it however you will, I don't mind.

I can't review. I've sat down about 5 times to do so and the songs are loading ungodly slow, and when I do wait I get totally tooled around by a bunch of bullshit cookie-cutter songfight tunes. Booty and Mostess rep'd this week, though, for shuh. I'm sure there were more, and I'm sorry, but I kept getting let down and couldn't write anything particularly illuminating for anyone. So, thanks for the few reviews that are up, sorry I couldn't contribute.
