Optional challenge: 500 entries

Quick, get to work! And tell your friends! Start all those side-projects back up, too!

500 entries? That's not toooo bad.

If you don't count today, that's 9 days to write.
Say that you sleep 6 hours at night, each night, and have no life or job or desire to do anything but write music, that's only just over 3 songs an hour.

This is going to be big. Bigger than Melvin, bigger than Kompressor...bigger than Frontalot.

Huge.

I just mean 500 total. So we need all the active and all the lurking songfighters to step up to the plate.

Fightmasters should keep us posted with a running total of entries received, so we know how much more we have to do. I expect that it'll get down to the wire and I'll have to write a hundred songs in a day or two...

Yes sir.

There is no way we could come up with 500 songs even if we all sent in two. Besides, who'd want to listen to that fight anyways?

You almost described me up to the 3 songs an hour part. I can barely write one a week :(
Even so, I have my own secret gimmick for this fight, if I manage to get it done. The intention is there.

Nothing is bigger than Kompressor.

I really considered coming out of self-inflicted exile for this, but my week(s) ahead doesn't look like it's going to allow for it. Typical bad timing (which is evident from my recorded output.)

I could probably throw some BVs, bass or keys in the direction of a band of Super-Lurkering-Sometime-Fighters, should enough people of that ilk be up for the idea.

In, though this will likely be my last fight until I've finished applying to grad schools.

Ah, who the hell am I kidding.
My other music is Old Time / shape note.

I wasn't part of the first 98% of the 500 titles, and I'm sure one of the many mathletes here could give me an exact percentage, but Id like to say, you guys and girls are my new musical hombres.

I really wanna have something to turn in for this, but I'll be travelling from Friday to Friday, and I probably won't have access to my recording equipment. I guess I'll spend most of today writing something, and see how much of it I can record Thursday night, then spend the next seven days after that mixing/toying with samples...

Or, I could do like I did for "Violet Wants It Her Way" and serve as bandleader/creative director while doing relatively little of the grunt work. who's up for that? 8)

Happy 500, Songfight. Here's to 500 more.

In the time it's taken for Maki to post, I think I've composed about 500 songs, so I'm up for the optional "500 Song Fight!"

I entered three songs under the same name for So Aggravating. It's generally discouraged though.

Yes, ever since the So Aggravating fight, I think.

Probably. Mostly people who can't be bothered to read the FAQ.
