So you walk up to him, and your eyes - they meet.
And you work up to it - that fatal thing.
Wish I had time for this one. I'll file the title away, though. FTD could rip this up pretty well.

I'm in on this one, me and a friend are putting together a rap battle. It'll be submitted as "Mister Shot and D.C."
Edit: Never mind, problems with the recording process have made it so I won't be able to finish the song in time. Oh well.

Of course, no song is better than Glenn's "We are on hiatus for the holidays because nobody will write a song while they're at their mom's house eating turkey, or ham, or matzo balls. Please sign up for the mailing list and we will send you an e-mail when we get going again" written for the final title ever posted on The Sharing Machine competition.

Sorry. No can do. Quite a few people had already PM'd me to offer suggestions of what I could do with it. I didn't think it was physically possible at first - but you'd be surprised!HeadShot wrote:I'm sorry, but that's the greatest thing I've heard all day. Downloaded. Should try and use that for my outgoing voicemail message.
Random song idea for those fishing: I just saw the most awesome/entertaining/enlightening/add your own superlative film so far this year in a sneak preview last night :

Re: What would happen if... (pre-fight)
Well, I have a song written and recorded, just need to, once again, do vocals. If I don't do vox tonight or tomorrow, I will be out, as I'm taking my daughter camping this weekend. I hope I can get it done, because I like the song, and perhaps you would too.

Re: What would happen if... (pre-fight)
I too am off camping this weekend and I got something done in a couple of hours yesterday. I can't confidently say I'm in it to win it this time, just trying something out, I think I like it.

So. I've got something written. I really hope I have a chance to record it over the next couple of days, because it's a very cute song. I have never (with the possible exception of the very first Song Skirmish) done anything (solo) that could be described as "cute".mico saudad wrote:You've definitely got a consistent style, but it's too loose and plodding for my taste.

I'm in. My attempt at a 70's rock ballad. Think Cat Stevens meets Pink Floyd in a dark alley.
Spent some time on the lyric/story development this time around.

I'm offically in. Used EQ on the vox as suggested so we'll see how it sounds. I actually used some other little 'tweaks' on vox too so look forward to that.
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

Re: What would happen if... (pre-fight)
Is anyone working on the live recordings? I just realized I'm not getting back home until after the deadline, so I won't even have time to work on my studio version.
(Which kind of sucks, because I completely forgot my second-verse lyrics and couldn't read my chicken-scratch in mid-song on stage.)

In.
All I did was glance at the title, and didn't bother to notice the challenge or the fact that this was this year's Live fight.
So I says to myself, haven't done a GnG in a while. That'll surprise everybody. I might even be the only GnG song this week!

Re: What would happen if... (pre-fight)
Thanks to the 3 "B"s today (bath/books/beer, and yes, at the same time--I'll live in a tar-paper shack if there's a clawfoot to soak in) there'll be no RG entry this title. Which is sort of a bummer, since the cover art I made's a blatant tie in to the pending song. Liking the flamenco surf vibe, though, so maybe it'll show up at some point.
Liking the "new" style/genre too, just need a band that can pull it off live, heh.

Title inspired first line of song. Somehow managed to write enough lyrics to make a song out of. Recorded it. Submitted it.
