Does that mean the Berkeley Social Scene has to take another week off?

But just to make everyone feel a little better. here are the lyrics to Salt n Peppa's 80's hit.

This song has 9 PEOPLE CREDITED AS SONGWITERS.

It took 9 PEOPLE TO COME UP WITH THIS:

Songwriters:
JAMES, LARON L. /
JONES, JOSEPH /
DAVIES, RAYMOND DOUGLAS /
THOMAS, SEAN C. /
AZOR, HERBY E. /
BRITO, R. /
GILES, CAMERON /
GREEN, GREGORY OMAR

I wonder how they divided up the workload?

Ah, push it
Ah, push it
Push it!
Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Oooh, baby, baby
B-baby, baby

Get up on this!
Ah, push it
Hey!
Get up on this!
Ah, push it
Get up on this!
Ah
Ow! Baby!

Salt and Pepa's here!
Sal sal salt and Pepa's here!
Salt sal sal sal salt and Pepa's here!
Salt and Pep, Salt and Pep, Salt and pepa's here!
Salt and Pepa's here!

[Now wait a minute, y'all
This dance ain't for everybody
Only the sexy people
So all you fly mothers, get on out there and dance
Dance, I said!]

Salt and Pepa's here, and we're in effect
Want you to push it, babe
Coolin' by day then at night working up a sweat
C'mon girls, let's go show the guys that we know
How to become number one in a hot body show
Now push it

Ah, push it - push it good
Ah, push it - push it real good
Ah, push it - push it good
Ah, push it - p-push it real good

Hey!
Ow!
Push it good!

Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Oooh, baby, baby
B-baby, baby

Yo, yo, yo, yo, baby-pop
eah, you come here, gimme a kiss
Better make it fast or else I'm gonna get pissed
Can't you hear the music's pumpin' hard like I wish you would?
Now push it
Push it good
P-push it real good

Ah, push it
Ah
Ah, ah, ah
Get up on this!

Boy, you really got me going
You got me so I don't know what I'm doing
Ah, push it
Ah, push it
Push it

Boy you really got me going
You got me so I don't know what I'm doing
Ah, push it

Push it
Ah, push it
Push it
Push it, ah
Push it,ah
Ah, push it
Push it
Push it
Push it

See - that is the quality you can get when you get 9 PROFESSIONAL SONGWRITERS on board

Does any one know any major Hollywood producers?

I think I have just written next years Oscar winner.

Here is my preliminary script for "Push It - The Salt 'n'Peppa Story"

LARON L JAMES: Ok - I got "Baby" - where do we go after that?

JOSEPH JONES: How about....another "Baby"?

RAYMOND DOUGLAS DAVIES: Genius!

SEAN C. THOMAS: But what do we want the song to say? I'm thinking verbs. You know...doing words.

HERBY E.AZOR: Like "push"?

R. BRITO: Yes!!!! How about "push IT"???

CAMERON GILES: Oh wow! That is real good. I mean real good

...stunned silence...

GREGORY OMAR GREEN: Oh man - are you thinking what I'm thinkin?!?!?!

I'd like Scarlett Johanson to play all characters. Wearing the underpants she wore in "Lost in Translation".

The above is exemplary of what happens when one finds himself wide eyed and drooling in front of Turner Classic Movies at 3am ...

The Salt'n'Peppa song was one of only about 2 or 3 I am positive I remember buying on vinyl as a mainstream format for pop singles. I was just getting old enough to buy records, and then vinyl died out except for the vintage LP market and indie/alternative/punk kind of stuff which I wouldn't be into for several more years.

Ah, memories. I just wish this one was about a less silly song.

As badly as I want to take the Salt-n-Pepa logo (http://www.mowieknowme.com/wp-content/i ... D_Ver2.jpg) and turn it into an intertwined "SF," real life is unfortunately taking priority this week and I will not be able to submit cover art. Crazy project/overtime at work, family medical issues, real band in the studio, and shooting the first scene of my offensive puppet musical... all of which I mention in passing, hoping that you ask me about them. Especially the puppet thing. Ask me about the puppet thing.

Funny you should ask, Kapitano. My brother and I happen to working on a short film / television pilot staring puppets. It's about a sex offender who's trying to escape oppression by fleeing to Thailand but gets tangled up in a drug ring. And it's a musical. The opening number is an Elfman-styled rouser called "Dear Children."

But, yeah. This is the first project in a long while that I'm just excited to work on: I don't care about how other people receive it, I want to make it because it amuses the hell out of me. So this coming weekend I'm going to New York and we're going to make it.

Here's a teaser we made before we redid the puppets and upped our production values:

Jay String in with a critique of misogyny (and misandry, I suppose) in horror films. And an exhortation to push children down stairs.

Oh, and if we're desperate for some artwork (saw FB not available this week) here's something I did just now. Not great by any standards, but like I say, if we're desperate.
