Wow, the "10 Years Ago" fight this week was won by "Madi, Singer Songwriter Age 7". That would mean she's now, like, 17... time sure does go by, doesn't it?

Ooh we may have time to enter for the first time in a long long time! We have a little idea that isn't brilliant but could easily become cool...

Well I can't get the Spike Jonze movie out of my head. Excellent movie! I expect at least one of my projects to be inspired by the movie.

That is so crafty!
Bob Fripp called that the new standard tuning.

I'm in.

Have to go out bush for a week tomorrow - so only had a few hours to record today - but I couldn't resist the title - so off it goes in all its lo-fi glory.

EDIT

D'oh...I got the file name wrong and called it caravan ray_h.

I assume someone will work that out?

I did the same thing for my very first fight and I e-mailed the fightmaster to let them know I had messed up things. It ended up getting "fixed in post" and was correct on the web site.

What with landing my first contract, I don't have time to enter Song Fights at the moment. Unfortunately, most of a song has shown up anyway, so we'll see.

woh woh woh there ... what's this about a contract? Is this a recording contract or are you working for the mafia?

I guess you missed my Daily Roll Call posts. My steady job of 20 years ended a few months ago. That's why I managed so many consecutive fights! But I'm now writing documentation for a new product on contract, so things are looking up, paid-work-wise, and conversely down, fight-wise.

Oh, yeah, I do have an occasional gig as basically the rhythm section at a small local recording studio, JazzHouseBlues. I signed a talent release form, so I guess that's a contract. Pays for the coffee I drink.

As for this week's song, I dunno. Sounds pretty awful so far.

I have this whole thing laid out (with a middle 8 not quite worked out yet) but I kind of want to start all over again. Tough bananas, eh? I should try to make it better. Too late to start over.

Anyhow; I like the title. Good one! (also planning on seeing the movie)

(((EDIT)))

I gave up on the track I was trying to make into "Her" and put it into the world as "Sickness" instead ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hohVPdYTZ4Q with looping ballerina)... now working on new "Her"! this one will be a one day song.

I just submitted my entry earlier today, my first SongFight song in over a year. It's kind of last minute, and really, really silly, but sometimes you've just got to let your silliness run free.

yay to that. :)

I've got a little something kind of sad and cold this week. It was a little less experimental than my usual fare so I sent it to Chris this week for a little bit of production advice and help with the mastering bit of it. I like it and may keep on it a bit because I have more ideas for it. :)
