Looking for Male Vocalist for "Canadian Girlfriend"

Post by chocolatechips »

I'm working with JoAnn Abbott on a song for "Canadian Girlfriend" - she came up with the lyrical idea and I'm doing the music ... My hope is to find a dude singer for this thing. The song includes some sexual innuendos. Me and/or JoAnn may be featured singing harmonies or other background vocals, not sure yet.

You would agree to:

1. Let me upload it to youtube & bandcamp.
2. Letting me submit it to songfight as The Chocolate Chips featuring JoAnn Abbott & YOU

How'd we do it:

I would send you the song with a guide vocal and you would record your raw vocal (s) and send 'em back to me to do the final mix. I would need your vocal back by Thursday morning (10 AM at the latest) to give me a chance to mix it back in before the due time. I could have the instrumental with guide vocal to you by Tuesday morning.

(it'd also be good if you let me know how you feel about pitch correction as I do have melodyne and I like to use it from time to time... but if it's a strong vocal performance it'd be great to leave it natural too.)

Some idea about the vocal style and range you're looking for would help. You may be looking for a smooth tenor, and end up with Kompressor.

the style of the song is shaping up to be vaguely John Denverish ... I'm writing it so I can sing it in case no one else volunteers so it'll within my in my rather limited range (F2 - D4) ... it'll probably end up being more like A2 to C4 ... I'm not finished with it so I can't give an exact range but I plan on keeping it within a 10th.

I've heard you (Sober) sing on a couple of your recent submissions and I would be thrilled to have you do it if you're willing.

Another approach to getting a collab guest that fits your needs is to message them. That's how I've done it in the past. You review and have a pretty good idea of vocal sounds here. If you don't get an offer by Monday, shoot out some PMs. Not everyone checks the boards to see this thread, but would love to kick in on the project.

It's not looking like I'll have a lot of time this week. I'll let you know if that changes.
