Back to the Well

Post by HeadShot »

Orchestra Of Blades

Struggle hard, your ropes are tight
Arms are tied, wide open eyes
Where you go there is no light
Down below where water lies

Back to the well

You’re going back to the well
Where you’ve always belonged
With cement on your feet
And a gag in your mouth
You can scream if you want
‘Round the cloth ‘tween your lips
But nobody will hear
Anything but the drips
Of the watery depths
Shallow to break your legs
Deep enough for your breath
To be hard on your chest
Gasp again and again
As you sink ever down
To your submerged bed
Weighing down on your head

Take a look over the edge
Where you’ll hang for just a second
Before I provide the push
Topples you towards your death

Back to the well
Flail about in hopelessness
Plead at me incessantly, emotion in your eyes
Pray for mercy never comes
In the form of a needless extension of your life

If you’re lucky you will drown
Before hypothermia
Saps away at your reserves
‘Til your skin turns blue or else
Death will be a sluggish march
Towards your final depart
Crack your skull upon the hard
Brick if you prefer a head start
I've got a better idea. You go in there and talk to him. I'm going home. http://www.facebook.com/#/pages/REFLEKT ... 011?ref=nf

I've never had everything sorted
This you know for you've seen in my heart
But the days that I am without water
Are the days I'm most easily broken apart

I'll look for a stone 'cause I've heard they can cry
But however hard I strike it I still remain dry

I've walked in this desert for day after day
And all that it's got me is a story to tell
But what good is breath when it's fading away?
I'm dying, I need to come back to the well

God knows I have heard all the stories
Of people being blinded by love
How thankful I am that I'm living!
But sometimes the living just isn't enough

I want to fall in
Stand on the rim, stretch my arms out
And slowly get sucked in
You'll remove all my pain
And once I have tasted I'll never go thirsty again

I look around at your creatures, they're struggling too
But they've always been given enough to make due

I've walked in this desert for day after day
And all that it's got me is a story to tell
But what good is breath when it's fading away?
I'm dying, I need to come back to the well

I'm going back the well
where I first wished for you
I'm going back to the well
I'm gonna get my money back.

You made me blue, you made me cry
but I ain't gonna cry no more.
I'm going back to the well
I'm gonna get my money back.

Gonna jump, gonna jump,
gonna jump down in that thing.
I'm going back to the well
I'm gonna get my money back.

Gonna drink, gonna drink,
until that well runs dry.
I'm going back to the well
I'm gonna get my money back.

I'm going back the well
where I first wished for you
I'm going back to the well
I'm gonna get my money back.

Back To The Well - Paco del Stinko

I am alone, up on the hill
My name ain't Jack, and you ain't no Jill

Back to the well
Back to the well
Back to the well

I need water, I got no pail
I cry for help, to no avail

Maybe you can quench my thirst
Maybe you're the one
Maybe you can heal my hurts
Baby, thanks a ton
You'll still be my baby if you fall down
I ain't too crazy to fix your crown
Come on baby and hold on tight
Let's climb up to new heights

So here we go, running fast
How far can you make it? How long will you last?
No don't let go (don't let go)
You're all I've got (and all I need)
Leave me from having, back to have not

Back to the well (back to the well)
Back to the well (oh what the hell)
Back to the well (oh well oh well)

Just one more try, then I give up
I'll forget the bucket, all's I need is a cup
All's I need is a cup (just a stinkin' little cup)
Just a teeny little cup!
Back to the well
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

I dreamed you wealthy
Gave you everything
But you threw it all away
Blew it all up in my face
So I dreamed you happy
Without a care
But I couldn't make it work
With me in there

I worked to win you
Gave it everything
It became my only goal
Said I'd even sell my soul
So I made some money
Made a lot of cash
But you just balled it up
And threw it back-

-to the well
It really doesn't matter if there's anything left to sell
This house is only worth
Its weight in concrete, bricks and dirt
Without you there...

I built fire
You said it's hot
I put it out
You said it's dark
A light bulb
You said it hurt your eyes

You heard
Dying knells
I heard
Wedding bells
Over
the buzzing of the flies...

I dreamed you with me
Made you miserable
I was quite unhappy too
So afraid of losing you
So when it happened
It made no sense to tell you no
How blind your wind must blow
'Cause when I gave you dough,
You wished that you could go
Back to the well

Back To The Well
(c)2009 Pathetic Wannabees

Well well well
what have we here?
who ate my pretzels?
who drank my beer?
Why why why
should I get no respect?
like a pariah
like i might infect?

[chrous]
It's back to the well
I need some new friends
My back's to the wall
and I'm facing the end

If if ifs
and buts were nuts
what a Christmas we'd have
we'd all make the cut
Tsk tsk tsk
the shame's on you
You've had your chance
Now it's my redux

[chrous]
It's back to the well
I need some new friends
My back's to the wall
and I'm facing the end

[break - slow]
Yeah it's back, down so deep
should i drink?
Or should I leap?

It's back to the well!
But I don't feel so well!
It's back to the well!
But the well has run
dry...

Back to the Well - The Hell Yeahs

I'm fading, and I'm fading kinda fast
getting' harder and worse after every flash
I remember your madman's face as a child

I was led back here by a bear in the desert
I don't know about turnin' the wheel but it couldn't hurt
I remember what you said about never comin' back

You know what my mother would say about
me marryin' and American

Quiz Hannibal, I'll beat him by 20%
On your way to the 70's you're gonna leave me dead
And you gotta never let 'er come back

This place is death

Back to the well where my father drunk
Dry town,
Well they chained it up
Saving his soul
Come on, don't believe that shit

Back to the well
(Don't go back)

Back to the well where my father drunk
Dry town, fell right down and hit his head, oh no
Try to pull him out?
No I didn't
Try to pull him out?
I throw him back in
Where was your mother?
Where was your mother?
Pouring the water, talking to people
Telling her mother she had got it right

We sent a cop to rescue him
He said, "I don't need rescuing
No, I don't need rescuing"
No questioning

Ask the well
Not me
Ask the well
All he knew
Yeah, the well
Yeah, the well
All he knew

Back to the well
Back to the well where my father drunk
More drunk than dead but dead enough

Go back, go back, gone

Back To The Well

Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you to care what I'm thinking?
Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you to know what I'm thinking?
I can live for myself
I can breathe for myself
I can do for myself very well thank you
Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you to care what I'm thinking?
Back to the well with your penny for my thoughts

Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you to care what I'm thinking?
Just because the court
Just because the court
Ordered me to go and tell you what I'm thinking
I can live for myself
I can breathe for myself
I can do for myself very much thank you
Take that penny back to the well

La la la
La la la
La la la
La la la la la la la

Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you to care what I'm thinking?
Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you to care what I'm thinking?
Who are you?
Who are you?
There's no way you'll ever hear what I'm thinking
Throw that penny back into the well

That's who I am
That's who I am
That's who I am
La la
La la

Cock - Back to the Well (Ujn Hunter & R. Mosquito)

How could she let him go with his back to the well
Amazing that he could still swim, considering...
How far he fell!

Here lies the broken man
For all he sacrificed
She was the only one
He never stood a change

Broken in every way
She'd taken everything
He could not understand
The hand that he was dealt

It was aces and eights
Doomed from the start, it was fate
The lie that he lived and the memories made
When she was through with him, all that was left

Was a broken man
Just a broken man
His dreams bring him back to the well

He's a broken man
Just a broken man
He tries to forget but his dream bring him back

God help the broken man
Some how he must move on
Restart his life again
Erase the painful things

Her fading photograph
His haunting memories
The peices of his life
That all remind him of

How she could let him go with his back to the well
Amazingly he could still swim, considering...

She'd
Left
A
Broken man

Just a broken man
His dreams bring him back to the well

He is a broken man
Just a broken man
It's hard to forget when his dreams bring him back to the well

I did not have an entry, but I considered going back to Beethoven's 5th:

Back to the well!
Back to the well!
Back to the well! (back to the well, back to the well)
Back to the well! (back to the well, back to the well)
Back to the well (back to the well),
Back to the well (back to the well),
Back to the well!
Well!

Back to the Well

sometimes you gotta look deep inside
reach into the muck where your spirit hides
digging deep until I reach, another plateau
digging deep until it seeps, to the meadow

looking for a way to make every word count
easy to say, but harder to be found
haunching down until I get another idea
breaking crowns that I wore before I got here
giving meaning to the things that I think
envious of the water that you drink

I'm tappin'...
I'm tappin'...back to the well

always sipping on the taste of freshness
no time to stagnate, this is what I miss

I'm tappin'...
I'm tappin'...back to the well

Back to the Well
by Ross Durand

Well you can wandercross the landscape
You can Rest beneath the trees
Take the paths that lie before you
Or go the way you please
well you can look for every byway
From the Golden Gate to the Liberty bell
But when the water runs dry
you’re gonna have to head back to the well

You can follow every rainbow
Lose yourself in every glenn
Climb the mountains - count the stars
Lose yourself between now and then
You can gaze at every stranger
No need to kiss and tell
But when the water runs dry
You’re gonna have to head back to the well.

and the well it don’t go nowhere
no it’s here to stay
thought the water may be low or high
you keep comin back for more
but
Whatcha gonna do when the well runs dry?

Well you can run, you can hide
You can always walk away
But you can’t change what you’ve done
No matter what you say
I guess that world out there kinda swept you away
And you stumbled and you fell
But sooner or later
You had to head back to the well
(and you can see the bottom)

Back to the Well
Tuners Union

Down in the ground, where the words I keep
with a silent conviction and a touch of sleep,
minor erosions of walls so deep
collude against dreams into which they creep.

Back to the well; at the edge we stand
with a satchel in tow and a rope in hand.
With the pail we'll raise all of what we can,
yet the usual haul is the soggy sand.

Maybe in a hundred million years,
when particles meet their particle fears
in fiery flames rather severe,
and from chaos new worlds appear.
It's in this place, it's at this time
the things i lost would recombine
without the dirt, without the grime,
with all the sharpened edges fine.
And if my cards land luckily
the same might just happen to me;
with a slap to all causality
those things and I could maybe meet.
And though the odds aren't infinite
I can say that I don't count on it.

After a while when the ground is filled,
and the stones have all crumbled to the grass they killed,
common response will again be instilled;
go back to the well and then rebuild.

You've been wondering, wondering
Where you went wrong
The days that passed
It's been so long

And you're wandering, wandering
Far away
You packed your stuff
And left one day

You've been wondering, wondering
Who you can trust
Your little book
Is covered in dust

And you're falling, falling
To your knees
At the edge you toss
Your handful of pennies

Bring it a dime
Bring it a dollar
Bring it your life
Put on that collar
Live in your prison
Live in your hell
Live without reason
Go back to the well

You're swimming, swimming
Till you drown
The water's thick
And pulls you down

You wonder, wonder
Will you survive?
Last night you were dying
To take a dive

You're falling, falling
To the end
The lights grow dim
As you descend

If heaven's somewhere
To be found
It's not beneath
This hallowed ground

Bring it a dime
Bring it a dollar
Bring it your life
Put on that collar
Live in your prison
Live in your hell
Live without reason
Go back to the well
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.
