10,000 favorite songs

I have reached my 100th entry today. I have not missed a day so far.

Somehow, reaching triple digits made me feel like a thread for these 10,000 song lists could be justified. Especially since I am not the only person making one.

In fact, some other songfighters are making lists. Including <a href="http://thebewells.com/projects/sotd.php">Andy</a> (of the BeWells), <a href="http://heuristicsinc.livejournal.com/">Heuristics Inc</a>, <a href="http://10kdays.livejournal.com/">Niveous</a>, <a href="http://song-a-day-mojo.livejournal.com/">prayformojo</a>, and <a href="http://rachaellayne.blogspot.com/">Rachael</a>.

I am still updating the blog daily on <a href="http://glenncase.blogspot.com">Blogger</a>, <a href="http://drfunk49.livejournal.com">Livejournal</a>, and <a href="http://blog.myspace.com/glenncase">Myspace</a>.

For now, I am still linking to the other lists with every post I make.

If you decide to make one of these lists under the same rules I am following, it's simple: Post no more than one song a day.

That's about it.

ROCK!

Oh, ABSOLUTELY!! :D

Actually, I think your comment really did help me to be sure that I wasn't going to miss a day for a long time. It was further incentive, so thanks!

DAMN YOU AND YOUR GOOD MEMORY!

I think that was even something from the old boards. I am having a hard time tracking the thread down. If I was to review the archive, I would probably have to start from scratch.

Honestly, There were thoughts of starting a similar project up again, but a friend had some <a href="http://www.songfight.org/ratings.html">very good points</a> that made me think twice about applying actual ratings to the old fights.

(You could have mentioned my failed <a href="http://www.songfight.net/forums/viewtop ... t=549">365 Great Songfight songs</a> just as easily...)

So, there you have it. I don't always finish what I start. :)

You are all sick and I'm very impressed by your sickness. And the wonderful eclecticism evidenced in your lists. I am inspired to try and catch up, but that would be sick. I love Andy's album cover listing.

I would love to read a roymond list... as long as it's not on Myspace, I can't read those at work. No need to worry about being behind or anything!

I would also like to see a Roymond top 10,000 list.

I like Andy's "by cover" listings too. I asked if I could steal the idea today, and he said I could, <a href="http://www.glenncase.com/10000/bycover.html">so I did.</a>

I have jumped on the Song-a-Day blogwagon. See link below.

This is not a Top 1000 or Top 10000 or anything like that, I'm going to post a song a day for however long I feel like it. So don't be a stranger - log in. Give feedback. Or just laugh at my lack of command of the English language. It's all good.

Oh good, someone to take my place! I have abandoned this past-time, due to lack of time. Lord knows there's no lack of past...

No RSS, Albatross?
Yes, this does become a time-sink, depending on how long you spend on each post.

Fortunately I have no life, so it's not an issue.

OK, I just found the RSS option and turned it on. My bad.

I have missed 3 days thus far, but I started my top 10,000 blog a year ago today.

Jack's skeptic ways may have actually helped me stick with this. I had someone to prove wrong. Thanks, Jack!

Glenn! I just added you on MySpace. If you listened to any of my stuff, you'll notice that you're a lot better than me. I came across Just So You Know over at AAD, which inspired me to do a much worse album, with less words, but it doesn't matter, because the directory is no longer current, but more importantly, I crossed over to SongFight! in reverse, thanks to your great work in both media. Maybe some sort of private message would have been better for that, but hey, message board ranks aren't just given away!

Anyway! I like a lot of songs! I'd like to do one of these music blog things! But I'm thinking I'm only going to make a preliminary commitment to 1,000 songs. Not that I don't think I'll still like music in thirty years, but...man. Can I be in your magic link network thing if I start doing this?

Yes, but don't worry, eventually you wonder if you have time to do even one a day :)
