Unsigned female Irish pop/rock/folk singers?

Post by roymond »

A friend of mine is a best selling author of fiction, who is looking for a charismatic female singer for a movie based on one of his books. Would help if she acts, but they need a good singer. Does anyone have any indie Irish bands fronted by a female or solo artists they really like? Along the lines of Nataly Dawn of Pomplamoose (she's not Irish) or Markéta Irglová (from the movie Once, also not Irish).

I like her music but she seems to have disappeared. Lots of dead-ends on the various web sites, and no apparent action in the last year or so.

Irish doesn't mean from Ireland. But the character is Irish and living in NYC.

You are close enough to Irish for an American movie.

Apparently this bloke is supposed to be an Australian!

Seems like every season there have been one or two Irish girls who do pretty well on Americal Idol, maybe some of the Idol alumni are looking for work?

Yeah, her :-) There were also a couple Irish-ish girls on So You Think You Can Dance this past season (Molly and Katherine(?)), don't know if they can sing or not, and they're probably all booked up for the SYTYCD tour...

I've never watched it but will pass this on as it makes sense.
