Miracles of Modern Science. Imagine if Nirvana used stringed instruments instead of guitars, and had happier pop sensibilities. So, nothing like Nirvana at all. I was fortunate enough to see them in concert this last Thursday and they were even better live. Everything that I thought was studio polish was really just them being incredibly diligent performers. Their album "Dog Year" is the best (and it has a great bonus track that isn't on the free streaming preview), but Meems is also pretty good.
It's also infectiously catchy stuff and you WILL get it stuck in your head, and you WILL NOT MIND.

Yes! I have "eating me alive" on my play list right now. They're impressive and rock surprisingly great for a string section and percussionist. But then again, I'm personally big on drums and guitars rock, so I guess they're acoustically right up my alley.

Also nowhere else will you hear someone absolutely rock out on a contrabass.
