Re: All Time Favorite Game
I'm not the video game warrior like many others here are, but I rank Goldeneye, for N64, as one of my favorite games of any type. 'Type' meaning tag, Monopoly, Clue, spades, etc. I beat the entire game, which was insane, and after I got rid of the console, I still couldn't part with the game. It's in a box in my attic. Favorite viddy game by a mile.
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

I'm a pretty big gamer... even tho I never have time to play much... but I have a pretty big collection of games anyhow... My all time favorite game is Castlevania Symphony of the Night for the Playstation (PS1) the music in that game is also top notch... it's the only video game soundtrack I have ever bought the CD to.

Boy, I'll probably have a different answer to this one every time you ask me. But the answer right now is Day Of The Tentacle.

Good one!jimtyrrell wrote:Day Of The Tentacle.
My favorite is "Okage: The Shadow King". It's the story of a young boy whose family sells his soul to an evil king and hilarity ensues.

Re: All Time Favorite Game
I played the heck out of some Sea Wolf at skating parties in elementary school.
So many good memories of arcades, so many good memories of my 2600. Loved Warlords, yes. Loved Yar's revenge and the dumbed-down version of Defender exclusively one summer at my Grammaw's house where I went to visit for a month, and played Indiana Jones to the end with only a couple hints from my Atari Fan Club magazine one fall.
By the time we got an NES, I was spending all my time at marching band practice. I could beat Super Mario just like everybody else, but what I really lived for was playing Alien Syndrome at the pizza joint after band practice that one summer.
Favorite videogame of all time? Ratchet & Clank
Good times.

Re: All Time Favorite Game
That's a hard one. I've been playing videogames for 22 years. I got a NES when I was 6 and preceeded to play the hell out of Super Mario Bros 1 for months on end lol.
Favorite game ever? I'd have to go with Final Fantasy Tactics for PS1. It's a 40-50 hour rpg depending on how much you do but I ended up beating it 7 times!
I'd also list Final Fantasy 6 (SNES), Fighter Maker 2 (PS2), Dead or Alive 4 (360), Super Punch Out (SNES), Raw 2 (XBOX), Dungeon Dwellers (PC, made with RPGMaker by ME!), Super Smash Bros Melee (GC), and The Way (PC, RPGMaker by Lun) in my top 10 games of all time.

I still have my 2600, and I challenge you (and two other players) to a game of this if you come to Spokane's Songfight Live in 2009.erik wrote:Warlords for the Atari 2600.

Wow guys ... I used to feel a bit dorky for spending all my time on the forums, but now that there's a video game section there's no disputing my coolness.
On that note, I'm always loved Mario Bros 2 (NES) kick. Not the japanese one though - it's beat me to a pulp over and over.

Re: All Time Favorite Game
I had to sell off my 2600 a few years back, because I needed money and I wasn't playing it anymore. I'm afraid I will only accept a 2-man, 4-paddle Warlord challenge, so don't bother finding two other people.GlennCase wrote:I still have my 2600, and I challenge you (and two other players) to a game of this if you come to Spokane's Songfight Live in 2009.erik wrote:Warlords for the Atari 2600.

Grim Fandango. Or possibly Diablo. Nah, Grim Fandango. I *loved* that game, and have played it through probably 5 times.

Re: All Time Favorite Game
my first instinctive response is 'bionic commando' on the NES, but I know there are others vying for the title... like maybe zelda 'a link to the past' on snes. i better stop thinking about this, or I'm not going to hit submit!

Yea, Final Fantasy Tactics was second only to Castlevania SOTN on my list... I've been playing the remake of it for the PSP lately... FFT that is, not SOTN

Re: All Time Favorite Game
I'll second many of the games already mentioned here, especially Warlords and [Bionic Commando[/i]. My personal favorite is Donkey Kong Country 2 on the SNES. I've played it through maybe five or six times at this point. I also periodically dust off the first six Mega Man games on the NES and play through all of them.

Re: All Time Favorite Game
Me and my Dad beat all 3 of the Donkey Kong Country games together in co-op. It's fun as hell. 2nd one is the best of the series.

Great choice - a favorite of mine as well. DKC2 was more imaginative than the first one - the pirate ship levels still mesmerize me.Rone Rivendale wrote:2nd one is the best of the series.
