Nur Ein threads

Post by Billy's Little Trip »

Not a complaint, just a suggestion.
1. I'd like to see each round in the lyrics section have a new thread.
2. I'd like to see each round have a separate discussion thread.
3. I'd like to see each round have a separate song entry and scoring thread. (locked and updated by a mod so that it can't be posted in)

It's only round 2 and I already find myself searching through threads and pages to find stuff. If no one else has an issue with this, then disregard it. But feel free to use me as the lowest common denominator if you want to organize in a simple to understand way, lol. :P
After hearing this weeks songs, I'm sure I'm out now. But I love Nur Ein and I'd like to be able to easily search NE3 stuff throughout the year.
If these things are going to happen, I figure now would be the time to do these things before too many more threads/posts are implemented.

Sorry, too much coffee opens up all of my thinky spots in my brain.

Re: 3) - I think that if song entries, a stream, and the results were all posted as updates to the first post in that round's thread (with a link at the end of the thread saying "Songs are updated in the first post in this thread" or "Scores are updated in the first post in this thread") then they'd always be in the same easy-to-find place, and all the relevant stuff would be in one thread (which might be nice for someone who wants to learn up about Nur Ein in like 11 months in time for the next one). I tried to learn up about stuff for this one, and there were like 50 bajillion threads on this messageboard. It was confusing.

That's true Erik. Right now the new songs are posted in the first post of each rounds thread, which is great, but the announcement, individual judge scores and final scores are buried in the thread. So like you said, you need to go through a bajillion posts to find stuff.

I'd like to see a thread titled:
"Nur Ein - Round 3 - Entries and scores"

The threads content:
The song title
The challenge
The entries
Each judges scores
Final scores
The eliminations
Any special info, IE: immunity, etc.
A link to the Nur Ein website
Locked thread

In a perfect world, of course.

You can always go to the Live Journal site, for the official information (the initial list of participants, the titles/challenges, the songs, the results, etc. etc.) and nothing else. If you want to be able to look through the comments more easily, probably what you really need is an official Nur Ein bulletin board. If you know how to set one up you should talk to Niveous about it.

(EDIT: In case people didn't notice it, you can click "Read More" at the end of the posts about the results of a round to get the list of scores, both overall and per judge.)

there was a thread last year with links, judges scores, and eliminations, and i found it very easy to know what was going on with nur ein. this year the threads are a mess. i looked and looked for who won the first round and ended up having to search for the term Nur Ein on livejournal (i couldn't even find that link). needless to say, i haven't listened to a bit of nur ein yet this year. i'm waiting for it to be organized.

Okay, I started this thread, based on last year's thread: http://www.songfight.net/forums/viewtop ... =14&t=5427

Hopefully, Niveous will keep it going. Niv, feel free to edit my posts as you see fit.

Hmmm, the Nur Ein has been a little messy, hasn't it. I'll keep up the thread you made, FBF.

Frankie, that's the ticket. Nicely filtered for fast referencing. You might want pre post enough posts for each round that you edit later to keep them all at the top. Some people here don't like to be told not to comment, and you know who you are, *points and shakes a long bony finger at everyone* :P

If we want to keep other posts out of the thread, I can lock it. I'm not sure if you'll be able to post to it then, Niveous, but I can copy the posts from the other threads into it if you want.

Not to step on Spud's (or anyone's) toes, but I have created a "subforum" in the "Sidefights and Highlights" forum called "Nur Ein" in order to consolidate all the Nur Ein activity on the boards.

I have also created a new "group" call "Mods" and added "GlennCase" and "Lunkhead" and "Niveous" to it, and subsequently have given moderator privileges to that group to the "Sidefights and Highlights" forum on the SFBB.
