Sounds kewl. I like any title that can be turned into a cheesy love song.
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

Whoah. That puts you in a narrow demographic. You are almost certainly between 33 and 36 years old. Statistically, 34 or 35. 34?The Weakest Suit wrote:seriously?

Re: Who's it going to be this week? (Spin the Bottle prefight)
The South Sycamore Wheelbarrow Factory Ensemble decided to take their 30 minute union approved lunch break to record a song for this fight. Because you probably don't know us as this our first fight. We'd like to introduce ourselves. On lead guitar and working the second shift handle press machine is Bohick Adams. On bass was the quality control manager and second shift lead welder Dan Djuraczowskivich. The lead singer is the purchasing manager, Takeshi Muramata. Excuse his voice, he has been recovering from a cold. Our drummer, Levon Hernandez Gebhardt, unfortunately lost a good portion of his left hand and small intestine in a tragic boating accident on Lake Zurich. Because of this we had to refit the rivet line PLC units to make a drum track. We hope you don't hold this against us.
Thanks again and buy our wheelbarrows. The lyrics are meant to be funny.

I'm sure I'll write something for this, since my luck has been terrible in the past few months.

Juliana Hatfield was exactly what I thought about, too.The Weakest Suit wrote:seriously?

Except I love this tune. So fun, so tongue in cheek (pun intended: hi, Elaine!).

*sigh* I was tempted to try for the daring "Don't do a cover unless we can't catch you doing a cover" thing, but there goes that idea.
Hell, I might just do a cover anyway - not to enter, just because I love Juliana Hatfield. And I've never done a song in 5/4 time, either.

You might still be able to get away with it, even if the source material has been sussed out aleady. Urine Luck posted that "Dog Without Warning" was a 2 Live Crew lyric in that fight's prefight thread, and then he turned in this bizarre entry.

Re: Who's it going to be this week? (Spin the Bottle prefight)
I have an idea already, a nice verse melody and two lines and a possible chorus/bridge structure. I'm having a problem tying in a thematic lyric. But it looks like it's a go.
Good news, it's electric so I'll do a proper recording for this my second entry.

March Album Recording Month? I think it's for people who didn't record their FAWM album in february - just wrote the songs. Forgive me if I'm wrong - I'm kind of winging it here.Pigfarmer Jr wrote:What, if you don't mind me asking, is MARM?

Take another spin with the bottle
Prepare to kiss death
Cuz the first time ya' saw her
She stole your last breath.
Lyrics written by My Shower.
Rap song, possibly about drunk driving or alcoholism?
Possibly looking to collaborate with other rappers? I prefer doing the production and a bit of singing but I may take a crack at a legit rap. I can bust a fleezy well enough, I think.
I'm wearing my "Go Dumb!" shirt and ready to get hyphy up in this.

I'm going to start April Album Recording Project.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

As for my song, it's written. Pretty dark, and a lot less poppy than usual. But maybe a bit more falsetto than you'd like.

Re: Who's it going to be this week? (Spin the Bottle prefight)
Why don't y'all just start a monthly album fight club? maybe you could even assign topics in some random fashion- When I think about something like this idea, I tend to think of how 24 hour film contest things apparently are run, or at least how I read a local one is run... they draw certain elements like characters, mood, genre, ..., out of a hat and have to work with those, not sure how limited they are though. I kind of like the idea of trying to do that with music/writing... I'm sure somewhere someone's done/doing it, but even so...
Well, I'll post more on this when my brain works better if I make it back here soon and it's still being discussed somewhere.
A nod to being on topic- I'm thinking 'bout trying to come up with something for this fight too- but I keep saying shit like that and not turning up so, uh, I dunno... I hope I didn't jinx myself by saying that either...
The title is appealing, though I don't really want to go into romantic territory, I'm kind of thinking about something to do with luck/fate/something along those lines. Spin the bottle, you never know what life will bring? We'll see what happens.

That's kind of the joke. There seems to already be a "make an album in a month" contest every single month.sliced carrots wrote:Why don't y'all just start a monthly album fight club?

I feel a little obligated to make an entry seeing as it looks like it's going to be the usual dude party. I definitely don't want to play 10 Minutes In Heaven with any of you guys. Whatever... Jordan's going to win anyway.
