Indeed. But let's say, for the sake of argument, that Reist would prefer to divert all that traffic to his own website. That's a somewhat understandable goal.

"Get to You" had two participants and one vote. Short of bringing the Frenzies to the Songfight forum, how could Reist increase participation and votes?

My guess is that by now Andrew has an idea of who has participated and/or expressed interest in the past - getting some e-mail addresees and sending an e-mail might help, rather than counting on people finding it on the forums at the right time.

Ah, but with the much-discussed 'subscribe' feature of the forums, an e-mail is already sent to anyone who wants one -- whenever a new event is posted in the forum.

Well, that "subscribe" feature only tells you when a Frenzy has been scheduled. If a frenzy has been scheduled for a time that I can't participate, then it's not likely to occur to me to check ummband.com for the songs when they go up... unless someone prods me to do so once they're there.

I think (and this holds true to Songfight as well) that listening/reviewing/voting is just going to be very low among non-participants. Still, we ought to be able to muster more than one vote.

Hey guys.

The skirmishes of yesteryear had a decent turnout by the looks of it. Maybe you can take a leaf out of that book re: timing and length of warning and means of information dissemination? I, of course, was not around then so I have no idea how they actually worked.

Reist is doing it almost exactly the same, except that the Skirmishes didn't have their own message board, so all of the notification and voting was done here on the Songfight.net BB. I think that explains the higher voter turnout, but if you want to get more entrants, then I don't know.

I'm getting this feeling that having a separate forum for frenzies is a poor idea. However, I don't want the sidefight section to get flooded with annoying threads that are like 3 posts long. But yeah, moving frenzies to SF would be a decent idea, I think.

Petition the powers that be for a sub-topic (or whatever it's called) like the Nur Ein one up there at the top of the Sidefights section. Eh?

Perhaps the forum should just disappear... it hasn't been used for ages anyway.

It's not really your problem.

I baleeted the spambot. Should frenzies recommence? On this board perhaps? If we run it here, then we can self-host our own songs. Then frenzies can happen a lot faster.

Sure isn't. Unless the spam bots keep coming, of course. ;)
