Hello? Is this thing on?

Post by Madren »

Hi everyone,

So once upon a time I learned about this site from a friend. Back then I didn't know much about making music. Then I got Fruity Loops and I learned how to make some electronic music. I almost submitted a song for Gray Rainbow but didn't. I then got too busy to attempt to compete in any other songfights. After that I made an album's worth of electronic music, and when it was finished, I remembered this site and, starting last night, tried to take another crack at entering.

This time I succeeded. With a 7-minute acoustic guitar waltz.

Please be gentle >.<

As I am currently in school I cannot promise that I will compete in large quantities. What I can promise is the few entries I submit will be honed for quality.

Hello Song Fight. My name is Mister Mann.

[EDIT] Oh yes! And PS. Here's the short list of influences and instruments

Instruments: Voice, Bass, Guitar, Viola. Good on the first one, decent on the second one, and intermediate beginner on the other two. I also know how to make acceptable mixes and polish them up nice.

Artists I sing with on a regular basis: Queen (I can hit the high note in Bohemian Rhapsody if it's tuned down 2 semitones or so), Mika, Annie Lennox, Muse, Death Cab For Cutie (and Postal Service of course), David Wilcox (He's a leetle low for me), Simon and Garfunkel, and Imogen Heap!

Artists I consider as production masters of whom I am not worthy: Daft Punk, Boys Noize, Imogen Heap

Bassist I want to be when I grow up: John Entwistle (I would also say Christ Wolstenholme but John already covers his set of skills quite nicely)

Guitarists that intimidate me: Almost any. Which is why it took me forever to start playing the stupid thing.

Yeah, I'd take Entwistle as well. I'll settle for Graham Maby, though. Anyway, welcome and have fun!
