I am going to the UK around that time but unfortunately it seems that a NYC stopover on the way home effectively doubles our airfares (even though it doen't add much in actual distance at all). So we will probably go to Bangkok or Hong Kong instead. That sucks. NYC is awesome. Easily the coolest city I have ever been to.

June 4th is my girlfriends birthday, and she enjoys a vacation to NYC as her "gift" as we have friends who live there. the earlier date would be much easier for me to come see the show. I could make the later date, and the heat sucks, but the timing is right.

I would be glad to play in Hong Kong. I am there frequently.

Sorry for the off-topic -

Caravan Ray, do you want to do a SF:UK thing while you're here? I don't know if there are enough UK / European musicians to make it worthwhile, but I can drag in some FAWM / 5090ers as well. Let me know the dates and I'll see what I can drag together. It would be good to see you again, on a different continent!

Sure.

If nothing else - I expect you to buy me a beer somewhere.

We will be over for about 3 weeks - mid June to early July. Not confirmed yet.

I'd been planning on travelling to Boston and NYC in June. Hmm.

I love NYC. I have people to crash with in NYC. I have "spare" travel money. This will be the first SF event where I'd be 21+. And fluffy's promised to buy me as many drinks as I want.

So I'm saying I might pop in. (And by might I mean probably. And by probably I mean fuck yeah.)

(Not that anyone who Songfights currently probably knows who I am, but I can always just be the mysteeeeerious girl in the corner :p)
Songfighter since back in the day.

The timing may be difficult for me, but I haven't been to New York in 21 years. That's very sad for someone who was born and raised 48.2 miles from the venue (thanks, Google Maps). Dammit, I really want to go!

So, I'm not making any promises yet, but I'll see what I can do.

I intend to go. I passed the word along to Jonathan Mann as well and he's interested but can't say for sure yet if he can make it.

W00t! As if I weren't already locked in for this, some Bjam tunes will be most awesome.

So, yes, I am definitely in. Since I have most Fridays free, I'll probably fly in Friday afternoon/evening. Who's up for some pre-partying?

Also, XTRG: The Reunion?

Also, anyone want to split a hotel room? I don't snore.

OK, looks like I'm in. I don't know that I'll request time. Maybe I could share a set with someone.

About to book my flight so this year's event will definitely have another set of uber rock songfight covers from the archives.

I've noticed that the yankees are at home against the red sox on the thursday. If there's a contingent buying up a block of seats then I'm in there.

Just booked my time off and flight. Now to book a hotel. Anyone want to share? I was planning on just using Hotwire since I've had great experiences with them before.
