I like bunsen burners.
I like mixing things together that ignite and/or explode.
I like that pic, Niv. He should be wearing a BLT t-shirt. He's me! :) (even though I don't own a BLT t-shirt)
I don't like dissecting animals, amphibians, nor any "once living" creature.
I like to experiment. Mostly with recipes and sexual positions. .....for science, of course.
I'm not good at sciencey math, other than the basics. I don't like long mind numbing equations. They make me get a backache and roll around on the floor saying WHY?!..........wHy?!!! I need a juice box!!!

Living in the scientific age, we need citizens who know enough about science to make intelligent decisions about what they do.

Science is fun!

I find that many people (enthusiastic about as well critical of) science don't understand what science does and doesn't do. It makes most conversations about science fairly tedious.
What else did you want to talk about? ;)

I think the "Scientific Age" ended about 20 years ago. It is now the "Information Age", where we have citizens who don't know enough about science who have the means to widely disseminate misinformation in order to avoid intelligent decisions about what we do.

Shame. Science was fun.

Science is a danger to us all. When a mad scientist hatches a plan or tries to take over the world people can be killed. When a mad informationist tries anything he just gets called a handsome fellow in his youtube comments. Misinformation saves lives.

It is all of these scientists that come here in boats to steal away News Limited's freedom to phone hack that frighten me. I don't like it. But I do think that Andrew Bolt is a handsome fellow. And that Piers Akerman is just cute as a button!

Hmm, yeah, that movie I sampled did come from the Fifties. It is now supplanted.

I've been taking a pretty intense beekeeping course all winter and will have a hive in a few weeks under my control. Bees are insanely awesome creatures and the science of bee culture and democracy is proving insanely crazy.

No, hadn't seen that. Thanks! It's pretty fascinating how honey bees work. The whole hive is the organism. If you're up for a great read, Honey Bee Democracy is a really great study about how hives create/control queens, swarm, find new homes and food sources.

I'm lousy at science. Concept and abstracts, sure. The 'artsy' side of science. But not numbers and all that. Anyway, here is something that might be of interest. http://www.slate.com/blogs/quora/2013/0 ... =obnetwork

And Roymond, the beehive thing is way too cool. Love it!
