I completed a song. I sent it in. I listened again. I realized that my mix was truly, truly awful. I redid it into something slightly less awful, and sent in a corrected version. Now I've had to throw myself at our Fightmaster's mercy, to substitute my new version for the old. I don't know whether he will.

But moral of the story: I've learned to do what everyone says and give at least a few hours, if not more, between "finishing" a song and sending it in, so as to give my ears a chance to rest and reasses my mix. My songs are rough enough without my needlessly rushing to hit the "send" button.

Well, I'm in. After not looking at SF in forever, I saw the title Monday morning and was like zomgz, that title's totally devo -- I totes have to enter!! So I knocked out a song during lunch and... it's cringe-y. Sorry. Even more so since I took it back to the old school and recorded on a broken 4 track so you kids can hear grandpa used to rock the new wave before all these newfangled digital computers and such.

Yep.

Cheers to all you makers of music,

I'm in. My ape is a philosopher who drives all the other animals wild with his weird ways of thinking. :)

I had a dumb idea about King Kong but as always I didn't get enough written in time. I didn't even have a chorus worth recording.
