You just want to hear that guy solo. So much feel, so much soul. Fantastic tone. Great player!

(I bet you all predicted that one)

I met Santana at a John McLaughlin concert. Great American Music Hall, he was super down to Earth and not just another John McLaughlin fan (he's made albums with the guy after all), but he acted like all of us other guitar nerds.

Glen keeps stealing my picks! Yes, it's "Europa." No contest.

Fun fact: it was only recently that I learned that Santana's version of "Black Magic Woman" was a cover. Theirs puts the original to shame, though.

"She's Not There" from the classic movie, "The Long Kiss Goodnight". Everyone tried to drink shots like that (not in the attached video, but you know what I'm talking about). Best. Scene. Ever.

Also a cover! The original is by The Zombies (it was actually their first single ever!), and unlike "Black Magic Woman," I think "She's Not There" is a tie - Santana's version has some cool parts to it, but I also really appreciate the Zombies' psychadelic original, too. Good pick!

The performance of Soul Sacrifice at Woodstock. The band tripping balls, great fucking sound, and the drum solo. DRUM SOLO.

I have to be honest. I love (and would give honorable mentions to) "Evil Ways", "Oye Como Va" and "Soul Sacrifice" (especially that Woodstock performance) but my favorite is one of their pop songs. There's something about the mix of Carlos' guitar work under the growling voice of Everlast.

My favorite is Put Your Lights On
