Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

So I haven't had anything to add to the last several band QOTDs, but would it be gauche of me to share a DRC in the DRC forum?

Last Saturday (the 10th) I got inspired to make an ambient-electronica song, and that in turn inspired me to finally finish up an album that's been gestating since, oh, 2007. If anyone who enjoys electronic music wants to get an early preview of the album and provide feedback about what they like and what they don't like, PM me.

That is all.

Don't know much about their music. Their famous stuff is alright - "Lola", "You Really Got Me", "Waterloo Sunset", etc. - but there is one song by the Kinks that I really love, and that is "Phenomenal Cat."

I love the Kinks!
Especially the Village Green Preservation Society. That title track is my pick. It's got to be the most underrated album of all time.
Once upon a Gift of Music Caravan Ray did an awesome cover of that song for me.
I love the Van Halen cover of Where Have All the Good Times Gone also.
Lola is classic!

I can listen to the Kinks all day.

Village Green Preservation Society!
Phillipso, Older Brothers, Semolina Pilchards, Zipline , Thank Glennny for the Frisbee, The Odoriferous Valley, The Worldly Self Assurance, Berkeley Social Scene, Very Gentle Knives, Daddy Bop Swing Set, GUNS, The Kraken Lives, Cavedwellers

Finest band of all time. Until Ray went 'Musical theatre', at least.

I walked up the aisle to 'Waterloo Sunset' (it made sense in context) so i guess I'll go with that one.

Honorable mention to All Day and All of the Night, You Really Got Me, and Dedicated Follower of Fashion.

My favorite is Picture Book.

Oh if we're talking songs by the Kinks about taking pictures, this is so beautifully sad ...

Do I have to dig out my b(l)og entry from, like a million years ago about "VGPS" to prove how it is a terribly beautiful depressing album? :) (I actually would argue, track to track "Arthur" wins, but it's a controversial stand)

Also my "Dedicated Follower' karaoke version is legendary ...

Agreed, Mr Ray. Anyone who doesn't get this has no place in my heart ...
