I was curious and skeptical about how somebody could stretch a short novel by Philip K. Dick into a multi-season TV show. I think they've done a good job. It's not really sci-fi yet. It's got more of a suspense/thriller vibe. Good characters and decent acting, and the production values are pretty good. I hope it gets a second season.

I have neither read nor watched this but I've heard that the show and book don't have a lot to do with each other aside from the setting, so it's not that important to see them in any particular order.

Yeah, the show incorporates some of the characters in some ways, but, they are expanding upon the premise and setting up a story with an even bigger potential scope. I'd be spoiling it to say more...
