Oops for some reason I was expecting a PM and forgot this was going to be out in the open.

Do we have, like, guidelines for each other? And factoids to share? PdS probably knows enough about me but:
  • likes plaid
  • queer as heck
  • two kitties, Werner (who is 14 and a socially-awkward introvert) and Fiona (who is 6 and gregarious)
  • also a socially-awkward introvert
  • not a fan of personal pronouns
I could use a similar factoid list for the BoffoYuxDudes, is what I'm saying.

Good point Fluffy, because some other folks might also have been expecting a PM, I just sent them out to all participants.

Fluffy -

This might help some on what BYD has done, but it's 4 years old
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=328&p=184460&hilit=pym#p184460

Newer stuff is here at the bottom of the list
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

I need to update that soon. It's missing the last year of material.

I think for the first time ever I'm going to be late on a sidefight, because I've just been sick for the last month and a half and my singing voice is still worse than usual. :(

(I do have an idea for a theme song, although I still don't know much about the band or its members.)

Thanks for the heads up Fluffy. So, I assume other folks folks may also need a bit more time?

We're just a few days shy of the deadline, and I haven't received any submissions yet, which seems like a pretty good indicator. Well, that is unless everyone is like us, who tends to submit everything at the last minute.

I think BYD will be a little late, but we're still working on it. It's a little tough to pick out source material when you aren't as familiar with the artist, but that's what makes it a challenge!

I feel for Fluffy. Trying to capture the BYD essence is etherial at best, and quite odorific at its most pungent.

So far only two submissions, so yeah, I think a a deadline extension is in order. Let's push it out a bit.

New deadline: Monday April 10th 10:00am Pacific.

You can either PM me and attach the audio, or email it to me chumpy dot wumpikins at gmail dot com.

Bump.

Songs are due tomorrow.

Don't be a stiffer. We're all accustomed to having ten days or less to come up with a new song, and we've all had the past 5 weeks to compose themes for our beloved colleagues so there is little justification for slacking (except maybe fluffy's extended ick).

What can I say except sorry. I've never missed a deadline before, let alone an extension, but here I am missing both. I offer no excuse except to say that I have not recorded one bit of music since the GOM. I am glad to be doing Fluffy's theme, but have not been able to hit the recording desk. I will, though, as I always fufill my commitments.

So, apologies all around, please know I feel guilty and will make it up. Heh. Just hope I can make it worth the wait.

I think we're in the same boat. Song is written, but Al's had some major crud in his system the last two weekends. We might be a little delayed, but still determined to get out a quality Themesong!

Flippant reviews-from-the-hip:

JB - We need to get a time machine so that we can go back in time and make this the well-known folk song that it deserves to be.

J$ - This is like the theme song to a weird mod 60s TV show, like what Austin Powers is trying to be. It would totally fit for whatever aired directly after The Prisoner.

Jerkatorium - oh man this is rocking as heck, I love this

Ken's SDBnS - huh, this sounds very very different than your usual thing. What did you do with your voice? Your timbre has changed in your upper register. Have you been taking voice lessons? Anyway, this song sums up J$ pretty well I think.

Schlimminy - am I playing a game on the Dreamcast? No, I am listening to your song. Which I am digging. This relaxes me so much and makes me want to lay down on the couch and hug a cat. Even after the lyrics take a turn at two minutes in.

Sockpuppet - I approached this like a doing a retro video game soundtrack (since that seems to be My Thing lately), and actually produced the instrumental version first to work out how the vocals would be. It was fun.
