NUR EIN XIV - Round 6 - Survival
Survival

Hello Miss Ada Clare,
We’ve never met before.
You’re sweet as an eclair
And lovely to the core.
Hey, will you marry me?
Though we are orphans, both,
I’ll pledge my love to thee
And take the marriage oath.
Let our lives be intertwined;
Troubled days are far behind.
We’ve survived them all alone;
Let not our love be postponed.
Now we might both be heirs
To such a huge estate
That all our worldly cares
Will just evaporate.
We can’t trust anyone
To treat us fairly now.
I say what’s done is done;
Past trust, I disavow.
Hire lawyers, head to court.
I’ll fight hard! No one will thwart
Our claim as long as I’m alive;
It’s what we need to survive.
The case is long prolonged,
The money’s been consumed.
It’s you whom I have wronged,
And now I know I’m doomed.
I feel myself grow weak
And my life ebb away.
Just kiss my fevered cheek,
And love me one last day.
Can’t get back the days I spent
Wallowing in discontent.
Making friends become my rivals
Put an end to my survival.

SURVIVAL NE XIV 7.1.0 [Shadow]
We strayed off the path, can’t find our way back
Mud, fern and eucalyptus trees
Can’t get a view, so what do we do
Thousand foot drop-off six miles to the east
We could climb the volcano until we hit cinder
We could find a stream follow it down
Everything’s wet, good luck lighting tinder
Can’t boil water, it’s fresh fruit for dinner
Survival - eat another guava
Survival - roots and mud and lava
Pee in the woods, try to keep a good mood
Cause nobody knows where we are, so we’re screwed
Survival - let’s try meditation
Survival - here's my medication
The choppers can’t see us, so try another way
Because Police and Fire only search for three days
We don’t have a map, can’t use a phone app
Cause out here there’s lousy reception
Can’t get a view, so what do we do
Don’t say “Darwin” or “Natural Selection”
The island is simple, so nav should be easy
And town’s a few miles to the west
I ate too much guava, my tummy feels queasy
Don’t want the runs, it’ll ruin my bikini
CH
They say to get in touch with nature
Well I don’t like the way nature’s touching me
Maybe we were a little unprepared
Maybe it’s getting too dark
Maybe I hate feeling lost and scared
If we get out let’s stick to beaches and the sharks

Lyrics: Cybronica
Vocals: Cybronica, Estaphonia
Drums: Estaphonia
Bass, Instrumentals, mix: Cybronica
One brick
Heavy in hand
Rough to the touch
Should do the trick
To start us off
Fifty years of fighting
After hundreds more of hiding
This isn’t about attention
This is about survival
About greeting each morning’s arrival
Without apprehension
Without the fear of death around the corner
Without a monochromatic filter
I am a brightly tinted beast
Covered in the colors of warning
Do not devour
Do not attempt
To swallow me whole
Or nibble away at me
Lest the crimson and the gold,
The umber and the royal blue
The verdigris and violet too spill over you
And your teeth brake on skin
Tough as iron
Fifty years of fighting
After hundreds more of hiding
Every brick I throw
Is one less in the wall of stone
That kept us in our place
This isn’t about control
This is about survival
About the right to face the day
Without fear or denial
High heels click
Cocktail in hand
Just like the bricks
This will do the trick
The moment it lands
Flames spread from the broken glass
Flames ignite in the hearts
Of every Phoenix set free that night
Fifty years of fighting
After hundreds more of hiding
Still we die at the hands of the fearful
Still we rise in righteous revival
This isn’t about domination
This is about survival

I don't want to rant today
But I had better set it straight
You don't want to play around, man
Cause I will take a baller down
Because it's survival of the fittest and
You just failed the litmus test
To see if you can stay
Yeah it's survival of the fittest
It won't be contradicted
Go anywhere as long as it's away
Everyone who walks around
Today is the end product of
A thousand generation chain
So don't it make you stop and think?
I guess you are the weakest link
Should I slow it down when I explain?
Because it's survival of the fittest and
You just failed the litmus test
To see if you can stay
Yeah it's survival of the fittest
It won't be contradicted

Survival

I don't got enough ammo to kill all the zombies man
I run out all the time but they come back again
Sneak around scrounging shells and herbs and if I can
Remember never to play this game before bed again
Dreaming of survival horror
Creeping around the corners

If stress is your B.F.F.
If you go to bed but you cannot rest
If drowning's sounding nice to you
Then you might suffer an acute condition called sobriety
Leading to anxiety that you think you hide from me
When you drink alone
You're in survival mode if you know it or not
You're in survival mode which is why you cannot
Make a plan
You just react
You're in survival mode if you know it or not
You're in survival mode which is why you cannot
Take a chance
So now you're trapped

Survival
by Max Bombast
There are some folks who wish that you were not
Not gone, but just not here
Don't bring it up
Don't give it air
Protect their eyes and ears
How do you dare to try to make them care?
Leave it home and out of sight
Trust me you don't want to try to win this fight
Well to that I say
Be loud! Like your survival depends on it
Be proud! Like your survival depends on it
Don't shut down! Like your survival depends on it
Because it does
Hey man when did you get so serious?
We were trying to have a good ol' time
Don't bring us down
With your raincloud
Just act like things are fine
But saying nothing is the same as saying
"What is had ought to be."
What is theoretical for you
Is personal for me
The absence of a statement is a statement
The absence of a statement is a statement
The absence of a statement is a statement
Well to that I say
Be loud! Like your survival depends on it
Be proud! Like your survival depends on it
Don't shut down! Like your survival depends on it
Because it does
Be loud.

Survival
[Contrafacts: "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor and "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor"]
[Vocal sample hook: "I Will Survive" by Diana Ross]
No one made it out alive
'though we struggled and we tried
There was nothing we could do
Once death came for me and you
And it cannot be denied
I was happy that you died
'though I'm sure it isn't true
I would blame this all on you
Survival, we'll run and hide
and we're fighting to stay alive
It's survival, to my surprise
Sometimes it's better for us to die

P-O-C-U-S
Voodoo dolls and ouija boards
And she drew the nine of swords
Then the portal opened up
And it never can be shut

Survival

There's something going down
Underneath the ground and it's
Tunneling and running and it's
Pulling people under and there's
Kevin Bacon and his buddies
Fighting the worms
Old Fred Ward gonna have a turn
Hey! Tremors
Adventure awaits our friends
Burt Gummer: Doomsday prepper
This series never ends
He's a survivalist and
He's got his doomsday list
He's got his ammo
He's country Rambo
It's Burt Gummer with the assist
If you're having worm problems I feel bad for you son
He's got ninety-nine problems but a-
Stop.

Guest starring the Glenn Case Birthday BBQ Choir (happy birthday, Glenn!):
Glenn Case
Don Hawkins
Rachael Layne
Dawn Sanger
Kirsten Darling
Travis Powell
Nick Harrington
Fen Wolf
And with a very special dog solo in C# from:
Siouxsie-Q Case

Also featuring the delightful saxophone stylings of Mr. Nathan Tredinnick from Something To Do, Cribshitter, The Shabelles, and The Arkoffs, among other fine Southern Wisconsin musical concerns
Oh, and in case you haven't been following along, previously in the Ouijaverse...
* non-canon
What do you do when you've somehow painted your life into a corner?
Tied your hands to a man you're afraid to leave?
He swears to me that there's no-one else, but I know better
I was a fool to think what happened to her wouldn't happen to me
So I laughed at all his jokes
Kept his darkest secrets close
Let myself dissolve away like rising smoke
I thought I was made for you
So what do I become
When you've decided that you're through?
I lived my life for love
I lived my life for nothing
But I don't want to die
I want to survive
Please don't let this be the end
I can be more, more than I have been
I want to survive
The Ouija board sits out there, our private joke, on the bottom shelf
I hear a clatter, and the planchette's moving all by itself
It spells a message from beyond
"Turn the radio on"
(T-U-R-N I-T O-N)
And a voice pours out, it's her
Singing like a bird
Like a bird
She says, "We were never friends
But I know that it was him
That brought me to my end
It's not your fault
I died for love
I lived my life for nothing
But you don't have to die
I want you to fly
Please don't end up like me
You can still be more, more than I could be
I want you to survive
So go, go and buy a gun,
Buy a one-way ticket to anywhere
Just run
Call the cops
They'll find out soon enough
The dog next door is in the yard
Digging up my bones from the earth"
I tell her,
"I don't want to go on like this
I want to live a life
That passes the Bechdel test
I want to change the world
Make art, learn to play the bass guitar
Learn the shapes of trees, learn the names of stars
I want to listen to old songs
Echoing beyond the grave
Think of all the lives they saved
When they said, 'You're not alone'
Like a message from a Ouija board
Spelling it out for me
You're worth something without him
It's not too late, you're free"

Survival
by The Kraken Lives
Challenge : bring A’s game
Question: Is this too inside baseball?
Verse 1
We have to move out of our rental
Davis doubled to deep right center
The owner wants to sell the house
Grossman stood there looking and struck out
I’m going to have to up my medication
Piscotty grounded out to second
Chorus
Only the A’s survive in Oaktown
Frisco and Vegas can have those (other) ass clowns
The Raiders and Dubs clearly have no shame
Without further ado we bring you an A’s game
Verse 2
It’s getting hard to work at night
Olson homered it to Right
There’s too much to handle all alone
Semien makes the out at home
The kids are not down with their upbringing
Profar came up, but struck out swinging
Chorus
Verse 3
The cost of living in the Bay has grown absurd
Laureno reached on an infield single to third
We can’t seem to agree , we’re gridlocked
Fearing a score Chapman is walked
My phone is blowing up with likely scams
Taylor saves the day with a grand slam
Chorus
