In case no one was told this, and particularly for anybody who's new to Nur Ein, the way the voting works in the final round is the judges vote AND the participants vote. Every act gets one vote. If you were in a solo act, you get to make that vote. If you were in a group act, your group collectively makes one vote. The way you vote is to email the same email address you uses to send in your songs, and say which finalist you vote for. I have no idea what the deadline is. I don't know that it's ever been explicitly stated in the past. It may just be that Niv waits "long enough" for "enough" votes to come in. At some point the votes should get tallied and results should get posted. Niv, feel free to correct me if I've gotten any of that wrong.

Hey everyone,

I am currently waiting to see if any more votes come in because the final tally is very close.

Congrats Mike! Glad to see you win after so many years. We know how that feels. Great work on your songs this year.

Huge thanks to Niveous for running the tournament and the judges for the time they spent on it. My own personal "best judge" award goes to Vom for writing reviews every round. Cheers to you for that! Good game, to all the other participants, as well.

Oh, I still plan on doing reviews. I'm doing one giant review-o-rama. I think I'm gonna do it as a podcast...

Apparently the finalists also get to vote in the finals? Is that true? I did not think so, so we didn't even think about it. Are we the ones who abstained, without even realizing it?

I just started you both off with 1 vote for yourselves.

Congrats Mike!

And kudos to Erin and Sam - it's a marathon, and you both brought your A game each week. Not an easy feat.

Thank you to all the artists - it's been fun playing all of the songs during the LP's, and the great comments and thoughts in the chat while the songs were playing - the feedback is appreciated.

At about round 4, my wife said: "As soon as Nur Ein is over, you are going to take over the laundry for a couple weeks." From that moment on, I knew I had to make it to the final round.

Just kidding. It's always my intention to make it as far as possible because I love doing this with you all. That I finally won, well, that is a pleasant surprise.

We all have good years and bad years, and somehow this was my year, despite having less time than ever before. I think that less time translated into better, more-focused songs. I'm pleased with the results. (Except round 5 - that song is pretty bad.)

Anyway, enough about me. You're all awesome for participating in the best game known to man.

Thanks to Niveous and Tommy G for keeping the lights on and the trains running.
Thanks to Vom for the reviews.
Thanks to all the judges for judging and bringing an inspiring set of titles and challenges.
Thanks to everyone for playing and following along.
Thanks to those who voted for me, and also those who voted for Moss palace.
Thanks to Moss Palace for bringing their A game.
Thanks to Steven Lamphear for giving me amazing guitar solos on a couple tracks.
And thanks for taking my round 6 song in stride, Max Bombast.

I had a pretty good song idea this morning... maybe I'll make some more music before next Nur Ein... after I do some laundry.
