Song Fight! Live 2024
Kicking off the conversation in hopes we resume gathering in person for SFL. We (me and @jefff) are offering Denver, Colorado, but if someone else was really hoping to host, this is the spot for that big reveal

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
I sorely miss IRL Song Fight! Live so if it were to happen, I would be thrilled. While I would love to host it here, I'm really not confident in my ability to actually get a venue booked, so I can only offer at best a backup plan in case nobody else has solid leads. So however it might happen would be fine with me. I would love to see folks again and play music together. Y'all were fantastic hosts in 2018 so if you're willing to host again that sounds amazing. And of course we'd love to visit you and Jeff and G. If you wind up hosting please let me know whatever I can do to help out.

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
I miss Song Fight! Live being actually live, as well, and having missed the 2018 installment I'd love another shot at doing it in Denver, a city I haven't been to in around 25 years.

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
I would make every effort to make it Denver.
Also, I would love to host here in Seattle again some time in the next few years, having made connections with numerous venues since I joined The Jaydogs.

Yes please, I miss in-person SFL! My only requirement is that it occurs during my summer break from schooooooooooool.

The wife wants to go back to Denver so I'm confident in saying that she'll make me go whether I want to or not. Luckily, I want to. (Barring scheduling conflicts.)

To whom:
Please avoid Aug 3 - 11 if at all possible
Mid July is a great time, right?
I love anyplace other than NYC in the summer.
I too wish to rejoin SFL and those are my demands.

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
I doubt late May and early June is a likely time, but I'd prefer to avoid that time. We're expecting our first grandchild around that time. There are also a couple of other weekends but I have no idea when they are. I'll have to check with the wife.

June doesn't work for me either, since that's when my choir's big shows are.

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
If we're going to mention summer plans, so far we've got tickets for Khruangbin August 19th and I hope to go to Portland for the final XOXO Fest ever August 22nd-24th.

Nice! I can dig me some Khruangbin, and not just because my wife is Thai (besides, I really hate airplanes).

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
July is wide open for me. I have work-friends out there so that's a double excuse for me to book this.
First weekend is handicapped by the Thursday (U.S.American) holiday before and JB's camp would be a tight fit for their 15th plans, which is a Monday.
Looking around in this thread so far, that leaves these two prime weekends in July:
19th - 21st
26th - 29th

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
Summers are now dodgy for me for as long as I'm lucky enough to keep these cruise ship gigs (laugh if you want, I'm cashing checks). Maybe I can set up a Portland, ME SFL at some point.

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
Set it up on the cruise ship.
Edit: I'd most likely be able to make the Portland, ME Song Fight! Live (though, probably not if it's on the cruise ship).

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
Who all is interested in an online version like we've done the past few years? While I'd love to visit Colorado, it's just not gonna happen! Family obligations, etc.

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
I think having both IRL and online Song Fight Lives would be great, if there are volunteers for hosting both. While I hugely miss the IRL events I've also very much enjoyed the online events for how they've allowed so many more folks to participate, and a lot of the videos folks have made have been amazing.

If they happened at the same time, it would fun to have a group, in person, watch party on a big screen with great sound.

Re: Song Fight! Live 2024
Yeah! On the other hand, it might be more difficult for folks attending the IRL event to get videos submitted for the online event if they happen at the same time.
