Funny, I just wrote a song called "I Need A Vacation" a month ago.

This title is such a funny coincidence! Phil and I won't be able to participate because we will be on vacation. And the song is due on our 25th wedding anniversary! Have a great fight, everyone!

I am ironically way too busy to find time to work on this right now.

Never mind, I'm in, with a guest star (my robot vacuum cleaner which decided to start up while I was recording vocals and I decided it actually improved the sound)

Are late submissions a thing? What happens to them?

They aren't late until the songs are posted. After the songs are posted late songs are added at the discretion of the fightmaster (which is almost always but not until he has time to do it.)

I did a RoneAI song about a week ago, but people here are afraid of the evolution of music so I'm keeping it to myself. ^_~
(Plus it's a metal song and this is more of a folk rock crowd)

From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

I could wax philosophical about AI in music and its potential pros and cons but ultimately I see a songwriting contest as an exercise in human creativity therefore I don't think AI generated musical tracks really have a place in a competitive community.

Re: I've been working in a coal mine (I Need A Vacation prefight)
I agree. Why would anyone want to listen to a bunch of music that's just different prompts sent to different AI generators?
If you're writing your own lyrics and want those to be made into a song, you could collaborate with any number of human musicians who would be willing to do that, or even just post them in Ye Olde Lyric Mart and see what happens.

I can imagine having Crosby Stills and Nash as my backing vocalists. Or having Jimi Hendrix trade solos with me. I've always wanted Neil Peart on drums. It'd be sweet to get Lou Reed to tell a little story during my bridge. I'll have Jeff Buckley take the verses with all of the high notes.
