Feliz Nevada?
Is it just my computer, or is this thread completely Nevada'd?
(Feliz Nevada?)
Edit: Oh, now that we're on a new page the problem is, of course, resolved.
Edit #2: Oh, and now the problem is miraculously fixed. Wowee! Carry on!

Make more music than I did last year.

Wow, re-visiting resolutions for the second year in a row... Kinda scary actually. Let's see:Lunkhead wrote:Thanks for resurrecting this thread, Ray. I've never written down resolutions then checked my performance against them before.Lunkhead wrote:1. Move to my own apartment, preferably a cottage or in-law if possible (ie a free standing little building in somebody's back yard).
2. Get to work before 10am every day.
3. Make more, better music.
4. Travel somewhere exciting for a week or two.
1. Done, moved into a 1 bedroom, though not a cottage/in-law.
2. Oops...
3. Hmmm... that's pretty subjective. I think I did alright this year, with a few winning Loyalty Day songs, some fun songs with Erin as Merisan, and a victory for Tiny Robots's first entry.
4. Sadly this didn't happen. Still, SF Live in Boston was exciting. I saw some old friends and made a bunch of new ones and performed my own songs solo for the first time.
For 2006:
1. Get to work on time, for real.
2. Travel abroad, for real.
3. Get a new job.
4. Come up with a "Web 2.0" startup idea that will make me rich...
5. Enter at least 6 more SongFight!s as Lunkhead.
1. Uh... yeah, the thing is I have a sleeping problem, or something, uh, yeah...
2. Mission accomplished!! Erin and I had a great trip to Brussels and Paris. Yay!
3. Nope, better luck this year.
4. Nope.
5. Damn. I only did 1. Still, better than none, I suppose, and I did some covers, and my first collab, which turned out great.
OK, this is starting to get a little predictable, huh? For 2007:
1. Really get a new job (pursue my connection at Pandora more, specifically).
2. Travel around the East coast.
3. Enter at least 3 SongFight! songs as Lunkhead (a little more realistic this time), and maybe try to do an AAD (not so realistic).
4. Collaborate more, hopefully with Glenn Case, and as Otalgia again, and do more songs with Merisan and Tiny Robots.
5. Go to SongFight! live, and play 1-3 other SongFight! related shows.
6. Have a good 30th birthday party in a few weeks, and have a better New Year's Eve at the end of the year.

What a stupid resolution.Caravan Ray wrote: I think the only thing to add to this for next years resolutions would be:
Start drinking wine out of bottles rather than wine casks. (not that there is anything wrong with chateaux cardboard - but hell, I can afford it, and I'm not getting any younger - so let's enjoy life!)
I'm still drinking out of cardbord boxes.

Well, at least the megafight helped me avoid the "getting older and doing less" downhill slide...
Not exactly a resolution, but... the old timers around here may recall that I was laid off from Motorola in '03 and have been going back to school ever since. I finished my BA in "Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance" at ASU West last month, so the big project of '07 will be my grand and glorious return to the workforce...

I resolve this year to buy an electric guitar and learn to play it so I can use it in my SF entries.

Starting with the May 10th fight:
30 Paco songs (11 in a week, Sober! Yeah I know...quantity versus quality)
1 Slampig entry
1 Sidefight entry
2 collaborations (w/ Jeff Robertson and Phil Wages)
Of course, I probably have more songs than total votes.
Not a fan of resolutions, I'll issue a warning to break out your vocal cancelling software or warm up your skip button finger, as I intend to top these numbers in 2007.

Alright...2 and a 1/2! I guess with the other guys, I took their material and ruined it, with you I was more of a guest star. Maybe with your new set-up we'll be able to try something more from the bottom up one day. Hmmm? (none of this is a complaint, by the way)BLT wrote:What am I, chopped liva ova heee'ah?
