Didn't think I'd get a song in since I had to do one for Nur Ein too, but just skated in. My first entry as Kill Me Sarah since April of last year. Miss me?

I have no idea what I have just done. But it was fun and broke a lot of my own personal songwriting rules. Which is kind of like letting it all out, right?

Well, my wife got sick again (eye infection, both eyes, what fun!) and I've been tending the kids alone today (and tomorrow morning) so no recording for me again this week.

However, the song was written, so here are the lyrics -- I may not be competing, but at least I'm still writing. Tabs available on request (as if.)

---

Evil April
Upbeat, harmonies in ELO fashion
parens denote harmonizing

-

Spring is here and love is in the air
(but there's none for me)
Seeds of discontentment sprouting everywhere
(whoa whoa)
All these dismal colors on display
(what is wrong with me?)
Evil April gone by bastard May

I've got nothing to live for
(nothing to lose)
I know that seasons change
It's all they can do
(do)

Maybe I'm just reaping what I've sown
(tried to have it all)
You were long neglected and got overgrown
(whoa whoa)
Crocodile tears from skies of blue
(I was bound to fall)
Lion March reminding me of you

I've got nothing to live for
(nothing to lose)
I know that people change
It's all they can do
(do, do, do)

As a drummer, that was kind of a kick in the balls, since I think the ability to drum is not just buried within every person in the world, waiting to be awakened, since it's apparently the easiest instrument to learn.
Heh. I chose drummer specifically because you didn't list "has no rhythm or coordination" as one of the limiting criteria. Based on my personal experience, drums are f'ing hard. That's why I play the uke; easiest instrument since the Kazoo.

and I didn't know you were a drummer, so sorry about the kick in the balls

I didn't have time to actually record it this weekend... so I'm submitting the "demo" version I made last Friday. Please excuse the shitty production quality and the mistakes, if you can.

I'm looking forward to participating more next year, when I'll have more time!

Here's a peek at the lyrics:

Evil April, how will you make your life your own
When you know that you are just an evil clone?

I'm un-officially officially in now. Thanks to both of my fans for your patience (you know who you are, because I don't!)!

moowah ha ha ha ha!

But seriously folks... while the production values are so-so, I'll be looking for comments/criticism based more on the actual song rather than the quality of my producing/mixing. I may not win any votes, but to know how I am progressing, divine. 8)

Well Rone Rivendale is out for Evil April.

HOWEVER, Rone Rivendale and Posyden as the Trip Hop group, Destruction Enterpriseswill be submitting for the 4th time for said title. :D

I did the music and Posyden did the lyrics.

This is one of the most twisted and inventive things I have heard in a long time. Not to mention the nostalgia facor...
