Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

The cats woke me up early. Today it's a trip to the Squam Lakes Science Center. Tonight it's I don't know what. I have no shows this weekend, so I might drop in on someone else's.

Hi all.
Happy Cinco De Mayo
Unfortunately, I have a few appointments today.
Should be grateful.
But not.
Can't remember the last time I took a Saturday off.
Contemplating the direction I want to take my Nur Ein "Sister Cocaine" song this week.
Must ROCK, must over do the challenge, must have a good hook, must not suck.
Puts a case of Corona and a half dozen limes on my mental shopping list.
Contemplates what I should BBQ tonight for the gang.
Little subliminal voice telling me to buy prawns.
Sudden urge to buy prawns....lots of prawns.
Looks up and thinks about how weird prawns look.
Get out of my head little subliminal voice.
Prawns.
Feel like jamming right now, but must ...fight... the beast... and get to work.
Laters taters.
Prawns, prawns, prawns...

Chris, signing out

Dogs walked, fed, pill'd. Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Got a few bills written and mailed, worked out how much "reimbursible" stuff we've paid for for my mom, need to check on her checking account and make sure my brother got more money put in. Laundry sorted and started. Did a couple graphic arts kinda projects for the wife (she teaches middle school math, I get to do the layout & design of most of the tests and worksheets for her, since I'm the resident MS Punisher guru).

Day is mostly unscheduled, so instead of a "to-do" list, I'm just finding stuff that needs doing and keeping a "got-done" list, which I shall review in the evening and decide if I earned my cookies for the day. Foster dog Ben will go over to PetsMart for a couple hours (with me sitting with him), stop by my mom's and check in on stuff, and our church photo group is meeting this evening. Maybe I can get my "Evil April" rough mixed for the Archives... hope that the pool heats up enough that we can get in and check the hoses on the pool-vac, which is moving a lot slower than it should...

Started working yesterday on a lyric for "Ran Away to Paris" (current approach: a musical first-person biography of director Roman Polanski), hoping for some sort of alternate brilliant inspiration. Jimmy Buffett has a song called "He Went to Paris" that's still sorta stuck in my mind, more musically than lyrically...

I'm really tired today. Phil and Spencer are almost back from free comic day. Allison and I have been hanging out all morning, watching shows like Dora, Go Diego Go and Blue's Clues. Good times!

Allison made me play the Hell Yeahs Evil April like 20 times in a row. She kept saying "play again" and would cry if I didn't. That's my girl! She did her little head bang dance each and every time!

Today's song = Rick Springfield - Love is Alright Tonite.

I'm at work right now and I am going to voicetrack my Oldies shift for Sunday (7-midnight PST) soon. You can HEAR it on Sunday, but I'll be recording it in an hour or so.

At home: The cassette to CD project is much closer to completion now. All audio has been transferred to the laptop, so all I have to do now is split it up into segments and pop it on to CD.

There's a big get together with friends tonight, and I am sure that Wii Sports and Rayman will be center stage with the crowd. Bringing my acoustic guitar too. Should be fun.

EDIT: I've been thinking about recording acoustic covers from time to time. Just me, a microphone, an acoustic guitar, and recording equipment. No overdubs. I made a page for those recordings today. First song to get the live acoustic treatment: My Cherie Amour.

ROCK!

Free comic day was pretty ok.
Bought the 30th anniversary Comics Journal.
Drinking a Sparks Plus.
I've got some Nur Eideas, but I think I'm more in the mood to draw.

I was in the drive-thru, or rather, the park-at, for almost a half an hour at Wendy's today.

I know what you're thinking.

But "just another couple minutes" kinda plays on repeat for me.

Patience of a sloth.

Helped Luke and Wren move into their new digs. Now I am tired as fuck. Missed free comic book day. Oh well. It was worth it to help out some friends.

Oh, I unexpectedly did a live set streamed into Second Life to some group of Germans. That was fun. I especially like the last improv I did.
