So my friend had a birthday party this weekend, and some guests brought their wii over, and we played it. Man, that tennis is fun. Sore arm today tho.
Heh. I loved it.

I just found out they have old-school donkey kong for the Virtual Console. I officially have to get one of these.

The Wii is seriously awesome dude, especially the Virtual Console. They just released Streets of Rage 2 for the Genesis, and that game was a STAPLE when I was 12!

Wow, how did I miss this thread? My Wii Number is:

0195 6437 2627 0082

I've added everyone's previously-mentioned number, and yes I have Elebits, so if you feel like sending over some insane levels, be my guest.

Ah, posting on the wii and it's ginormous keyboard, It's like I'm one of the disabled who work that my job and have to have their screen on 3000x zoom. It's odd posting on SF from the comforts of my Wii...

Finally got the internet connection reconfigured on this thing. It's running better, but it still took about 15 minutes to type this. Heh.

FYI, if your Wii is up to date, you should be able to plug a USB keyboard in the back, and use that!\ for Opera/Message Board screens.

so for for virtual console i have bought:

wario's woods - kind of like tetris and what i assume dr. mario would be. berry, berry addictive. i first played this as one of the nes games in animal crossing and lost hours and hours to it. it's nice to have it on the wii.

starfox 64 - fun flying game with one of the most infamous lines in gaming oft repeated: DO A BARREL ROLL!!!

ninja gaiden - the original that came out on the nes when i was a kid. the original had NO continue function. when you ran out of lives you had to start at level one. in this version, though, when you restart, it puts you at the level you were at before you lost all your lives. part of me thinks this is dumbing down of the game, but part of me is glad i don't have to knock myself out to solve it. this is the first game i remember that had "cinimatic" cut scenes.

The wii is the reason me and my dad installed the wireless router. Now I can download virtual console games in like 20 seconds! Life is good, and I'm now a proud owner of Ristar and Pokemon Snap.

Wow I'm cool. 8)

I'm definitely going to have to get Brawl. It looks amazing, and I love the series. I hear it has some nasty loading times though. Is this true?

When you start the game (from the Wii menu), it takes a while to load. Haven't timed it. Probably less than 20 seconds.

But after that initial load time, the rest of the menus/etc seem to be pretty responsive.

We've mostly been playing the Subspace Emissary (single-player story mode) so far. Great, cute cut scenes.

Re: Posting this from a Wii

So a couple weekends back we played more Wii at some friends' house. And M really enjoyed it so I think she'd totally go for buying one. But even after a year you still can't find them anywhere (that's a real issue). Anybody have suggestions?
