I just had my first round of it... Yes, definitely, this game is cool. Reminds me a bit of SWKotOR, in as much as it's a FPS/RPG hybrid. There were way too many acronyms in that sentence.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up. Took *forever* to download ;)

I just spent a good portion of the night playing N64 with some friends. We played Super Smash Bros, Star Fox and Mario Kart. I had forgotten how awesome those games are. Smash Bros holds up to games today no problem. Except for in graphics, but graphics don't make fun.

Well, it's only FPS-like if you play a marksman class character. In fact, that's one of the things that I think's so cool about it, the game plays completely differently depending on what kind of character you play.

I got Zack and Wiki for my birthday. It's pretty fun so far, but most of my evening was spent ripping my new cds to the computer. Birthdays are awesome. :D

Thanks! I'm definitely having a good time with it so far, but I have a feeling that I think too abstractly to be good at this game in the later levels. We'll see how it goes though.

ps - I also got Raving Rabbids, which has already counteracted any workout my brain will get from Zack and Wiki. :)

Abstract thought and Zack and Wiki is a good thing. Some of the first boards are straight forward. When you get to the 9 and 10 star boards, you have to think outside the box. And then there are ways to beat the early boards that are off the beaten path too.

Skate is awesome... it's pretty much the only thing i've been playing lately. is anybody else playing this on xbox 360?

BUT, today I got saints row, call of duty 2, and endless ocean(wii), so some variety should be in my future.

Sounds bad. Do you have Zack and Wiki? If not, consider it your alternative choice. I've been playing it on and off for the past week, and it's definitely a fun, original game.

I think Mario Kart Wii just came out. Maybe after exams.

ZackAndWiki is on my list. My preorder of Okami just shipped though. And there's so many other unfinished games in my pile.

oh yeah, Okami is coming to Wii, that's right.. that's awesome. For you. You, being Fluffy, in this case.

I dunno if you've played it before, but I really liked it. The story is actually kinda decent. And you're this awesome, elegant, graceful god-wolf-thing.. and you can pee on your enemies. Okami is one of the only new-ish games I've been motivated to play all the way through. Highly recommended. I guess it's kinda obviously renowned on its on by now, tho, so my endorsement don't mean much. But, the pee!

I am currently playing "Dai Senryaku VII Exceed", which is a mouthful, but it's a fun mouthful, to say or to play. It was fifteen bucks new and it's a big ugly modern military hex-grid strategy game. I'm kinda starting to like it more than Advance Wars.

EDIT: wait, it's "Earth Day". And I'm talking about video games. My mom would fucking kill me right now. Damn hippie mom.

I played the demo of it on PS2 and I liked it but the painting interface was horrible. It was something which really needed some sort of directly-mapped pointing device. So when I found out it was coming out for Wii I figured, hey.

So, Okami arrived last night. It's okay, although ironically the painting interface is nearly as bad as it was on the PS2. The control over the brush doesn't feel very direct, and the brush is very susceptible to sensor jitter which makes most of my gestures mess up badly. They really should have put some sort of adaptive smoothing into it.

Also, the reviews all say that the writing is thoughtful and hilarious but so far all the dialog is just annoying. I've only played it for an hour though (about 45 minutes of that hour has been filled up with annoying cut scenes).

I broke out Assassins Creed again last night. I've finished the main storyline, but I've gone back in to do things like find the rest of the vantage points, citizens that need saving, Templar Knights and flags. Those flags are the worst to find, and I refuse to stoop so low as to look for some kind of online guide.

I do like that, later on in the game, when you have earnt all your equipment and moves, your 'assassin' can fight literally 40 guys at once. My personal favourite is finding somewhere high and chucking opponents off.

Aww, that's a shame to hear. I suppose the ideal interface would be the DS's stylus, but I'd hoped the Wiimote would be an improvement.
