Synopsis:
An aliens known as Niveous, lands on Earth and promise to be nothing but helpful to the cause of music. Initially wary of the intentions of such a highly advanced being, even the most skeptical musicians are convinced when their code-breakers begin to translate Niveous's book, that seemed to take FOREVER for him to write, with the seemingly innocuous title, "To Serve Musicians."

Sharing his advanced technology, Niveous quickly solved all of musicians greatest woes, eradicating hunger, disease, and the need for warfare. Soon, musicians are volunteering for trips to Niveous' home planet, which is supposedly a paradise.

All is not well, however, when a code-breaker discovers Niveous’ true intentions. His book, "To Serve Musicians", is a cookbook, and all of his gifts were simply to make musicians complacent, much like fattening pigs or cows before they are slaughtered.

Fun fact: Once upon a Song Fight (And Counting) there was a collaboration called Frisbee and the Swingset:
Paco del Stinko: Bass
Ken Mahru: Drums & Melodica
STEVE (not Ross) Durand : Horns
Thanks for the Frisbee : Vox & guitar
Glennny: Lead guitar, and unfortunate production.
Phillipso, Older Brothers, Semolina Pilchards, Zipline , Thank Glennny for the Frisbee, The Odoriferous Valley, The Worldly Self Assurance, Berkeley Social Scene, Very Gentle Knives, Daddy Bop Swing Set, GUNS, The Kraken Lives, Cavedwellers

Fun facts there, Glennny. One big happy family!

My song is in the mail. While I like elements of it, I won't be offering up a Furry Pedro type declaration of confidence. Good luck, everybody!

I can't speak for all the judges, but I think it would be great if folks posted some info about their non-English stuff, like perhaps what language(s) they used and translations of the phrases...

My song is in. Thanks for the pm Sam I appreciate it (it was just a response to my timing question). But I am pretty sure 1EST is 11 PDT - I hope I didn't inconvenience anyone.

I did that in the lyrics thread. The language (ab)used is named during the song as part of the lyric. http://songfight.net/forums/viewtopic.p ... 19#p118619

I thought Eastern was 3 hours ahead of Pacific, so to go from Eastern to Pacific you would subtract 3 hours (1pm -> 12pm -> 11am -> 10am).

Correct. But the due date is listed as standard time and we're in daylight savings.

OK, only 4 songs, so a start to end listen and review of each is easy. These are just comments on how well the song as a whole interested me.

Ken Mahru - I like this song. I wish the vocals were higher in the mix. I like that the drums are well heard, but they sound very centered in comparison to the guitars and vocals. This is very Glenn Case'esque melody style. Poppy, energetic, aggressive guitars. Seems to have all of the elements of a hit single. Good song.

Paco del Stinko - Yes, grabby intro with the Theremin. The way the song kicks in after the electro magnetic sound is great, but the vocals are kind of sudden, but gets right down to business. Your voice works so well with this type of music. Nice snappy snare and energetic. FABULOUS guitar solo. This is great sci-fi movie music. This is true to the Paco style 100%. Good song.

Ross Durand - Ok, nice and bouncy happy song. Nice melody. Pleasant guitars, horns, nice beat and tempo. Nice panning for added flavor. Voice is smooth and fun. Ooops, the final lead guitar note didn't hit with the band. The end of the song is the last thing I remember. Is that how you want me to remember this song? Other than that, I really like this song, so you're forgiven.

The Worldly Self Assurance - Great intro. Exciting tempo and poppy melody. Cool changes on the drums, made it more interesting, I like that. Clapping? gay. Sweet ass guitars through out. Love the FX and riffs. Voices are pleasant and full of projection. Nice outro! Except for the over used clapping, I like this song. So you are also forgiven.

Never mind my "personal" nit picks, these are all fantastic songs. Good luck guys.

I don't think that qualifies as a language, although it's certainly an expression. ( one that I don't share for your song, by the way :) )

Another note - just in case the judges care. I played my own trumpet on this song, in case you thought perhaps my brother did (not that it matters, but just in case it does :-) )
