JANUARY 23nd

<a href="http://dt.songhole.org">Duboce Triangle</a> - <a href="http://www.songfight.org/music/down_to_ ... .mp3">Down to the Atom</a>

Here is a unique scenario of a song that I love, and the artists who originally created the song cannot stand it.

This is easily the song that DT is the least proud of making, and yet I can listen to it for insane amounts of time on repeat play, and I don't get sick of it. Go figure.

Speaking of songs that I can listen to on repeat play for insane amounts of time...

You know, I can't even explain it. Maybe it's the kazoo. Maybe it's the mandolin parts. Maybe it's the call and response vocals. I just really enjoy this song.

JANUARY 25th

<a href="http://www.kongbalong.com/">Starfinger</a> - <a href="http://www.songfight.org/music/more_tha ... .mp3">More Than Soup</a>

This is arguably the track that put Starfinger on the map as a severe force to be reckoned with. The zany and energetic performance on this track is contagious. Put this on for a friend who hasn't heard it, and see if they don't start bopping around like crazy. If they don't groove around, check to see if they have a pulse... they might be dead.

JANUARY 26th

<a href="http://www.songfight.org/artistpage.php ... kings">The Idiot Kings</a> - <a href="http://www.songfight.org/music/so_aggra ... ng.mp3">So Aggravating</a>

One thing that could be categorized as "So Aggravating" is making sure to take care of your coverfight duties, only to not recieve the same courtesy in return. The Idiot Kings, and myself, were the only 2 acts to have this happen to them during the last coverfight.

The good part about this happening, is that I decided to check out this song. It turns out that I like it a lot!

<a href="http://www.songfight.org/artistpage.php ... nte">Balls To Monte</a> - <a href="http://www.songfight.org/music/variatio ... ion.mp3">A Variation On Two</a>

Yet another songfighter who is consistant with having great material, is Balls To Monte. I would have to say that BTM has one of my favorite voices of all songfighter acts. You can check out pretty much any BTM track in the Songfight archives, and not be disappointed. Great production, kick ass voice, great harmonies, great songwriting. Highly Recommended! A+++, Would do business with again! :P

Side note: His version of King Arthur's <a href="http://www.bakedziti.net/audio/RedFlag_BTM.mp3">Red Flag</a> is not to be missed.

Heh, don't blame me. All I did was copy and paste the info straight from the History Channel website. Upon further investigation, they do have it listed under "Old West" for some reason.

Also: I am in the process of sorting the 365 list by <a href="http://glenncase.songhole.org/365ba.html">artist</a> as well as by <a href="http://glenncase.songhole.org/365.html">date.</a>

At <a href="http://kni.songhole.org">Ken's</a> request, I will also attempt to make it possible to see what I had to say about each song too, at some point.

ROCK!

The day is subsequently celebrated annually as 'Australia Day' (or 'Invasion Day' if you happen to be related to anyone who lived here before 1788)

Should I reall be surprised that this one didn't make it onto the History Channel?

JANUARY 28th

<a href="http://people.geneticmail.com/sam">Lunkhead</a> - <a href="http://www.songfight.org/music/soft_ora ... .mp3">Soft Orange Glow</a>

Happy Late Birthday to Lunkhead! I believe it was on January 26th, but I just found out.

I think the words and music compliment each other very well on this entry. I would call this song a cross between the styles of Radiohead and the Lemonheads. Maybe it's not the best comparison, but I still think it's a good song. I especially like the sliding guitar that comes in during the chorus, it's a nice touch.

JANUARY 29th

<a href="http://www.actdead.com">ADD</a> - <a href="http://www.songfight.org/music/midnight ... ">Midnight Rendezvous</a>

In Add's first songfight, you can already hear that this guy was probably going to have some great recordings in his future. The rhythm of the song just chugs along and nearly commands you to move with the music. The words are delievered in such a manner that it just FEELS like he means every word of what he sings.

WOOT! I am caught up again. I have been sick the last few days, and I am almost over it.

Here we have Ken at his mellow best. Ken's music is often like Ken is...
