Yeah, I feel that you give someone a bit of a competitive edge when you tell them outright that you're trying to provoke them. If I might ask a question of the originators of this, what's the range of expectations for the outcome of this project, and what do you think are best- and worst-case scenarios?
Oh yes, compliments on the speaking voice from me as well, Glenn. I could see you working for Disney, or some other company that tries to project a very friendly image. It sounds like you could provide the sincerity they're otherwise lacking. Or maybe you could do PSAs for the nuclear energy or tobacco lobby or something. I could totally hear you in one of those horrible propagandist videos from the 50's, duck and cover or something. Or just find a niche in voice acting doing nice cartoon characters. Not to say that you couldn't do some asshole characters if you really wanted to. I didn't mean to say so much about this. There are a lot of options, really. Just make some money off those pipes (you know, doing something other than singing...which I assume you're already profiting from, in some capacity, or at least you should be).

I mis-quoted slightly. The actual phrase is:©aravan®ay wrote:...makes mental note to use this in future general conversationWages wrote: Cool! A blind squirrel even finds a nut once in a while.
"EVEN a blind squirrel..."
Sorry! : 8)
EDIT: I guess that negated the humor, eh?

I've made a decision that my Purple Reign songs are going to all be done in an industrial style. The new Saul Williams music inspired me to go outside my musical genre and do some things that I've always wanted to do. I got a good start on it yesterday, and I must say, I'm digging it thus far.

I'm working on "Baby". I'm trying some new territory here. I was trying for something sort of jazzy, though I'm not sure if that is what I accomplished. Anyways, got some weird chords here! If anyone is interested in working together on it, here is a demo (I am open to adjustments!):
http://www.philwages.com/music/Babydemo1.mp3
Baby (capo @ 6; note: chords are based on the formations shown in "groove"; IE, they are not the proper names for the chords!)
VERSE 1 (A-G-A-C-G-groove)
Baby....with all that you've done
I'm lost on the one
thing that makes old love so hard to find
Baby....where did we go....
we used to really know....
our hearts went along with our minds
CHORUS (chorus groove from below)
gotta let it out...gotta let it out...
mmmmmmmmmmm
gotta let her in...gotta let her in...
mmmmmmmmmmm
gotta re-learn...gotta re-learn...
mmmmmmmmmmm
how to really love...how to really love...
mmmmmmmmmmm
VERSE 2
baby...please come back to bed
I've mulled it over in my head
oh believe this time, I mean it
baby...one more chance, please
I'm begging with all the cliches
though I mean every one that I say
GROOVE (finger positioning only; all other strings are played open)
A G C B G
|----------------------------
|----------------------------
|----------------------------
|-2-1-5-4-2-4---------------
|-2-2-5-5-3-2-2-------------
|--------------3-------------
CHORUS (something *like* this)
