What's the early mail? Will there be a new occupant at No. 10 next week - or will you be following the sterling examples of your Austalian and U.S. of American cousins and reinstalling the incumbant deadshits?

At least we did have a choice between right-wing arseholes and somebody else - you poor bastards only seem to have a choice between right-wing arseholes and the Conservative Party.

Do you have nothing better to do with your time than start potentially contentious threads under the guise of humour?

:) - actually that was a genuine query - the news seems to be telling us that the status quo will continue - is that the 'feeling on the streets'

...actually, it's a shame the real Status Quo won't be elected - that would be cool- Parliment needs more hair and tight denim

We have three unpopular main parties. The least unpopular party (Labour) having the most unpopular leader (Blair).

Current thinking is therefore that Labour will get back in easily, with a reduced majority, most of that reduction going to the Liberal Democrats ('third' party). But that Blair will soon be persuaded to step down in favour of his number two, who is actually quite popular.

As for the minor parties. On the right, UKIP (who used to be the lunatic wing of Conservative) and Veritas (who used to be the lunatic wing of UKIP) will remain laughingstocks, while the BNP (the nazis) will make small gains. On the left, Green (envionmentalist) and Respect (don't ask) will make small gains.

Well, duh, if you let the Pomeranians vote then of course the government will turn into a zoo. A zoo, filled with small yappy dogs. Which actually would compare favorably to the American system which is filled with small yappy people.

C-Span 2 is showing the election results. It's making me all nostalgic for the politics back home.
