Glad my Pitchfork Nation entry had already led to a pleasant musical discovery! I must confess that I don't actually know the band that well, other than the fact that their profile shot up after they got a good Pitchfork review. I guess I'll have to dig deeper into their catalog now!

I really dig that song in particular, has great evocative lyrics. I love that the singer does something great with his voice breaks and cracks. I really enjoyed reading your lyrics Micah, I didn't know much about Pitchfork, despite having read a lot of their GBV album reviews. I also got a kick out of reading the reviews you linked to, I forgot how much I enjoyed good music journalism. Looking forward to hearing all the Pitchfork Nation songs, but your song in particular.

Saw Los Lobos last night for the first time. They KICK ASS! Please go see them if they come to your town, you will not regret it. They rock, they swing, they jam, they do poly rhythmic Latin music, haunting beauty, play with dynamics, super tight with a loose approach. A truly great American band. Dig!
