I got sober 11 months ago and I think this title could be perfect for highlighting the benefits of sobriety. So far, I'm going in the Singer Songwriter direction which I've been trying to get away from. Trying not to be too corny. -Cody

I have never done anything as hard and heavy as the lyrics I've written are going to require to make them serious. If I can't make it not jokey I'll just donate the lyrics.

Thanks for donating the lyrics to Ye Olde Lyric Marte. I've already got something for the verses, and I'm working on the bridge and chorus. If you feel like collaborating, send me a message!

After several days trying to do a convincing song that you could put up against actual metal bands, but with a drum machine and no bass, I decided the best I can do for these lyrics is "insane man playing on a street corner as people walk by uncomfortably".

Mellfire Trifecta is in. If the optional challenge had been to avoid using guitars it would have been covered.

I don’t see an optional challenge at all.
I should be in for this one but other stuff going on will mean it’ll be Sunday submission
….and probably my last fight for a while as I’m away next weekend and FAWM is on the horizon.

I bet you could write a song to the songfight title and post it over at FAWM, too. Might tag it #songfight. At least, that's my plan.

Sorry, I didn’t either. I should have said “if there was one, and…”

That's true...I've done that before with the challenge formerly known as 50/90 but not in proper February FAWM

I'm in as RoneAI. I would have just used The Rogue Fedoras as I have been but that was MY actual voice just with an AI filter. This is a 100% AI song. The music, the vocals, the mixing. And if I do say so myself, it turned out great. ^_^

*lopes in and fishes bloated mp3 file from pocket, covered in lint and smelling of stale chillum chunx, slaps it down on counter expecting Fightmaster III to gut, fillet, and grill it*

In. Thanks to CynicalMonkey, who wrote the lyrics and posted them at Ye Olde Lyric Marte.

I have to shake my fist on Sunday deadlines, man.

Why are we doing this? Why are we taking a whole day that a lot of us have off and cutting it so short?

I had some problems getting back to the house on Sunday to finish this song and can't wrap my head around a Sunday 12pm EST deadline!

*steps off of soap box

I believe we're in as well... and I would also love to have that entire Sunday to record. ;)

To be fair, you have until the songs are posted and, if memory serves, they've only been posted as soon as the morning after the deadline once in the past couple of years. Granted, I've been a chronic send it "post deadline but pre posting" person of and on for years. Not knowing exactly when the songs will be posted (and therefor the deadline) is a sometimes frustrating and sometimes charming part of the site.

While all of that is "true", it would still be better to have a "real" Deadline that includes all of Sunday (as the last day, since that'll be crunch time, Sunday as the first day does nothing as songs don't usually form instantly) for those of us that actually "try" to submit by the posted Deadline. It's extremely useful for those of us that collaborate, as while I personally might be okay with a "slack" Deadline, not all of my collaborators may be as laxed as me... and prefer to have things "done" for the posted Deadline.

Interesting to know. I am off Sunday and Monday. I would've tried to get mine wrapped up today had I known
