Hey Johnny$ You could always ride on our tartan coat-tails after our resounding 2-1 defeat of the Olde enemy Norway :-). Though I still prefer your 19 point odds of qualifying versus our 10.

That's fair enough, and I suppose that most of the people complaining about not playing in poor light have never had to bat in those conditions, against some of the world's best bowlers. It's still kind of disappointing (from a spectator's view) that one team can say, "we don't feel like playing for a few hours" and it's a winning strategy! But hey, I'd have done the same thing, and yay for y'all in Britishville, or whatever it's called. It was a heck of a series and y'all have a lot to be proud of.

I don't think anyone will complain that much - we lost - we know it (sob). It's just so hard to come to terms with England actually winning anything!

(you guys a still a pack of cheats though - with all that fielder substituing going on  )

Oh well - we still have netball and rugby league - the 2 sports we still RULE THE WORLD in.

Great series - congratulations.

Right up there I think as one of the 3 greatest sporting events of all time - along with the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the Newcastle Knights winning the 1997 Winfield Cup.

Dearest Caravan,

Thought this might appeal. the rent is reasonable and it's the perfect spot to lick your wounds...

That looks like the ideal place for Ricky Ponting to move into when he gets home.

I fully expect that Punter and his ten mates should be stripped naked, shacked together with chains and forced to walk from Brisbane to Perth, dragging behind them the carcass of a dead cow - all the way enduring the taunts and physical abuse of the 20 million people that they let down.

It would be a wonderful learning experience for my young daughter - it's never too early to learn how to recogonise a loser - and perhaps poke them with a stick.

So now Australia has just beaten the Rest of the World in the 3 x one day series and the 6-day Test Match - can we just forget about all that Ashes unpleasantness and remeber who the indisputable World Champions really are?

BTW - 9 wickets to StueyM(acgill) - if he had have been selected in England as he should have been - we never would have lost the Ashes.

Well, he's not a South African - but still, you might be able to talk him into playing for England.

You need a new Tufnel.

Tennis Balls indeed!!!....Now if only we could convince him to take some first class fast balls down the throat without the benefit of Helmet, Box and pads. I am certain there are some of our American Cousins who would pay money to see that.

London suicide bombers had planned to target the Australian cricket team during the 2005 Ashes series

That explains a lot. Al-Qaeda were obviously responsible for the cricket ball that "Ooh Aah" Glen McGrath trod on before the First Test - twisting his knee and putting him out of the match.

Freddy Flintoff is obviously part of the Axis of Evil. English cricketers hate freedom.

Went for a walk through Brisbane yesterday and felt so sick I wanted to vomit. Bloody English everywhere! Fat, stupid, stinking Englishman crawling all over the place with there fat, stupid, ugly, stinking English girlfriends - stinking the place up and making it smell like...like stinking England! We're gonna have to get the cleaners in next week to remove the stench Now I'm not a racialist or nothing, but the only people I hate more than bloody New Zealanders is the fucking English! (and perhaps Uraguayans). Barmy fucking Army - fuck off - take the example of that big, girls-bloused cry-baby Marcu Trescothic and go back to your own miserable, stinking little piss-stained country and stop polluting ours you bastards - eating all our pies and frightening the children. Mind you - I've got a lot of time for Freddy Flintoff - he should be Australian - but his brother Andrew is a dead-set plonker. My prediction for the game - by tea on Sunday, England will aready have been bowled out twice and Warnie will have already shagged about half a dozen fat English slags.

Oh - and good luck all - let's hope this series is a good as the last one and may cricket be the real winner

Don't be upset yet - they haven't even started. But I expect you can start to feel upset some time later this afternoon.

I think Warnie had some, and I've definitely had a few - but suffice to say, the bakeries of Brisbane will be doing a roaring trade while the Barmy Army's in town. I fear however that soap and deoderant manufacturers will not be cashing in on the sudden influx of visitors

With qualifications like that Bill, you may well be selected for the 2nd Test. I suspect that there are several members of the English team who have never seen a game before either.

Didn't anyone explain to Harmison that he is supposed to aim for the three wooden, sticky things poking out of the ground?

3/53 in response to 9/602 (dec)!! It will be a long, long summer for our bath-dodging friends from the North!
