HM (hobbyist musician) seeks TL (talented lyricist) for SF (SongFight!) side-project, maybe more!
I'd like to get back to fighting regularly, but I've run into a pretty bad lyrical bottleneck. It always takes me forever to write lyrics, and when I'm not happy with them I tend to lose my motivation to finish the song I'm working on. So, it's time to bury my highfalutin ideas about independence and what-not and look for a lyricist. Is anyone here a poet and they know-it? Are you separated by fewer than 4 degrees from a Dylan or a Cohen or a Brock? Don't mind me ruining your lyrics weekly with my brand of caterwauling?

If I've got a night to sit in the bar and find my happy space (why that place has become my muse, I dunno ) and I've got even the slightest of thematic direction, by all means, add me to your list.
Or... to be completely silly about it, give each willingee the overall topic, assign each of us a verse to write, then send the collected verses back out to us (once you've got 'em) for rewrites to better mesh into the whole.
Not a clue what to do about choruses tho'

Re: Lyricist Wanted
I know your posting was a while ago but just on the off chance..... I have been writing lyrics all my life and Leonard Cohen is the composer/lyricist I most admire. I enjoy putting words, and often melody lines, to music and I'm cheap; free, actually, and available. I'm at sfb@emailaccount.com if you want to get in touch.
