Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Truman Show wasn't bad, and I skipped The Majestic, but this one was great.

Seen it twice, but have no idea exactly what your verb means. Unless it means "to dance with a stoned Kirsten Dunst in her underwear". In that case, I fully understand.user wrote:This movie was impacting enough that I have verbed it a few times.
As in, "Well, might as well Eternal Sunshine it while we can."
And no, that doesn't mean erase our memory. It means--just watch the movie.

It's all in the presentation, I think. Cage's performance was kind of frantic. I loved the flick and he did a good job, don't get me wrong, but it would probably have been as classic as Malkovich with a different actor in the double role. I think Cusack could have pulled off the combo of suave guy/neurotic guy more effectively, or at least with a straighter face. But then I also could see a young Woody Allen in that role. That would have been hilarious. He used to act in movies he didn't write, after all.Caravan Ray wrote:Yeah?starfinger wrote:super awesome, and way different than I expected.
my favorite Charlie Kaufman is still Adaptation, though.

I thought he overdid the 'quirky' on that one - didn't like it much.

I liked Adaptation a lot more than Malkovich, though it would be interesting to see Cusack take on the role of Charlie Kaufman.

to Eternal Sunshine: v to enjoy for the moment, despite full knowledge of future doom. [I know that if we start dating, we'll eventually just be sad, because we're definitely going to break up, but we might as well just ~ it.]15-16 puzzle wrote:Seen it twice, but have no idea exactly what your verb means. That was the major theme that I interpreted from the movie. Well, that and "don't erase your memory." I guess both themes really boil down to, "Knowing sadness can be better than not in many cases." Good movie.

Great, great movie. Immediately after I saw it I bought the soundtrack, and I bought the DVD the day it came out and made all my friends watch it.

It is a very good soundtrack. Jon Brion does some good stuff. "Strings That Tie to You" always reminds me of Sheryl Crow's "Leaving Las Vegas."mkilly wrote:Great, great movie. Watched it for the fourth time a few days ago. Yep. Still brilliant.
