YouTube Video Sets

Post by GlennCase »

So, I have a YouTube user, and I recently acquired a way to transfer my 8mm video to digital. The video editing software I have isn't the greatest, but it might prove to be sufficient. Any recommendations in the video editing software department would be welcomed, actually.

I am going to work towards getting the Glenn and Rachael set on YouTube either today or tomorrow. I am choosing our set as a test, and also because I am completely fine with having it on YouTube. Other songfighters may not be as keen on the idea. I will let you know when/if I get it worked out. This will be the thread where I post it.

It would be nice to have at least one song from everyone else's sets available soon too. We'll see what happens. :)

Sweet, my acoustic guitar makes its Internet debut. I forgot that it's not necessarily intuitive where the 1/4" jack is on that thing, whoops...

Cool. I will post the full sets of everyone in the order that they gave their approval.

As long as YouTube has no limits of how many videos you can post in a day, this might actually work out fairly quickly.

I found that I could make better looking videos through Windows Movie Maker than with the program I was initially using. As an example of the better quality (and smaller file), I offer Mostly Harmless - <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Loaarfrl4lI">The Pawnbroker's Stepdaughter</a>.

Hope that's okay for me to post, guys. Let me know if it isn't.

UPDATE: Glenn and Rachael set is now complete. I transferred Pray For Mojo and JB's set from 8mm to digital this evening. Next step: YouTube for those two sets.

ROCK!

You're welcome. Thanks for asking me to play. Does this also mean that you would like it if I posted the Booty Chesterfield set on YouTube?

<b>SO:</b>

With <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puAG64yYJog">"What We Need More of is Science"</a> uploading as I type this, I have reached a stopping point for the evening. Three full sets represented thus far.

The posting order of the sets continues to be the order of when the artists speak up. That makes Bjam and Brody the next up, in that order.

And now? Now I sleep.

ROCK!

Feel free to post my songs.

With stuff on youtube, is there a simple way to save it off for "the archives" and later viewing under Windwos? If not, can these also be made available later on in .mpg or .avi or .mov format?

Thanks! Also, if anybody has any decent still pictures of the King Arthur or Caravan Ray sets or the Blue Spud Shoes livefight song, those are the three things I didn't get photos of.

Thanks,
Charles

There is a way to save things from Youtube but it's difficult (because you're not supposed to be able to).

Yeah, it would be better characterized as "ripping." But it is possible.

This is great stuff, btw. Thanks for posting it, Glenn! And thanks for rocking harder than all get-out, SF!
