Thismakes me so proud of him for what he did.

I can't begin to express my gratitude and respect. When will it be sunny again? Let's let Newt clear the skies!

Newt said, and ABC wrote:But I think my job is to try to do for my country...everything I can to be a servant in helping this country deal ... with the domestic challenges to our very identity
You know, challenges like the common perception of all politicians as inept, philandering, deceitful, or just downright ignorant.

If he'd just been smoking meth with a male prostitute like the rest of the repressed hypocrites, everything could be just glossed over.

There's a series called Ethics in America, made I think in the 80's, where they gather a whole host of political and professional heavyweights like Brent Scowcroft, President Ford, Newt Gingrich, generals, lawyers, scientist, doctors and then they go through these scenarios and the host goes around and poses a situation to one of the individuals then uses that individuals professional reaction to ask the other people gathered what their response is to the evolving situation.

It's an amazing show because you get to see the personalities and the process and how things really funciton beyond the title of President or Attorney General, etc. (well at least as much as they're willing to share on videotape). I bring it up because Newt was on one of those episodes and he really had an amazing grasp of history and context and really was overall very impressive in his take on the situation.

That said I would campaign my booty off to prevent him from being president.

Wow, great call, mico. You can view some of it online here. Awesome series. Also the "related" series are awesome. This is the schnitzel! But I don't find Newt in any of theses. Maybe he had them removed (!)

Ya know, I hated the Reagan years, Newt was worse, and then these vile fools in charge now came about, making the Contract With America years seem quaint. This does not, however, make the Newtster any less harmful than he was before. Please Mr. Gingrich, return to your place in history and let the country die in peace.

As disturbing as this man's personal life may be, focusing on it distracts attention from what he might do if he becomes president.

This is probably exactly what Newt and his supporters want the rest of us to be worrying about. Stuff that happened in the 1990's.

Meanwhile, Newt is out there giving speeches saying that as president he will take down every website that talks bad about America. (Exaggerated, but not by much..) That is what we should all be scared of.

He's pulling a "man of the year" tactic. If you saw man of year, you'll know what I mean.
