Democracy.

Or is it?

I for one thing democracy is totally misunderstood. It is a PRIVILEGE, not a right.
A privilege allowed by the fact that everyone in the democratic group is supposed to agree to bow to the will of the majority... except, that never fuckin happens. No one sits back and says... "oh, a democratic decision was just made and not only am I not the beneficiary, I'm actually going to be the loser here, but what the hey, I support democracy so I'll take it in the ass for the principle of democracy".

Nope. Doesn't happen. At least, not as often as it should.

Also, I can't recall where anyone ever said songfight was a democratic institution.

Or that "community" equals "democracy".

Nope, haven't seen that anywhere.

I am amused. Almost as amused as I am when kids cut through my yard and then try and tell me it's a "path".

Which is why I followed them home, so I could see where I'm having my BBQ once the weather clears up. Odd thing was, they didn't think that was such a swell idea, but I think it's a sweet idea. They cut through my yard, unlocking my two gates in the process, and I get to have BBQ's on their lawn. Seems fair.

Right. Democracy. I'm pretty sure it's not defined as "I can do whatever I want" either.

Ok! All you political scholars... school me. What is democracy to you?
