May 8!
I was up at 5am working out the final bits of my Nur Ein entry. Got it done and submitted, threw down some joe, and headed off to work. It sounds okay in the car, and not bad on the work computer speakers. A little clippy, but I think it's okay. It'll have to be; I doubt I'll get a chance to improve it between now and the deadline.
Tonight I might be headed up to Mojo Studio in Franconia to do some keyboard tracks for a local band called Pay The Piper.
I just got the preliminary show schedule from The Balsams. It looks like I'll be up there at least a dozen times this summer. Sweet!!

I got up at 4:30 this morning. I've decided to take the bus more often, but to do so I need to get up an hour earlier. So, yeah, I'm tired. Stayed up late watching 24 that I had DVR'd earlier. It was fantastic! I can't wait for next week's. Only 2 more left. Phil watched it this morning when he got home, so we can hopefully talk about it later.
No meetings at work today. Lots of training to schedule and coordinate. My "To Do" list gets shorter and then I keep having to add to it... will it ever go away?
What did you have for breakfast today?
Not quite as interesting as yesterday's question...
I had a Banana Bread Quaker Oatmeal Square and a Diet Coke.

Jack! How's the convention going? Other than meeting Bono, that is.
I wanted to get down to Beantown for drinks, but life has gotten in the way. I'm disappointed that you're only two hours away and I still can't make it work.
Oh, and for breakfast today, I had the aforementioned cup of coffee, and that's it.

I was on a flight from Melboune yesterday sitting a few rows behind Terri and Bindi Irwin. That's my brush of fame for the week. (I also saw SBS newsreader Anton Enis in the Qantas Club at the airport - but I chickened out of asking him if his middle name started with a "P")jack wrote:posting this from the floor of the BIO convention in Boston.
yesterday, who should walk by our booth but Bono. or a very good imposter.
i gave him a bottled water. it sure as hell sounded like him when he thanked me.

Yesterday's moment of coolness: we had our final meeting of our Sound Design class, which was pretty much a "show your projects" day. I had done a bunch of still photos of a two-day photo shoot (a very short film which is based loosely on the lyrics to songs from Abbey Road; to give you an idea of where the state of the project is right now, the director delivered the "final edit" of the video a few days ago and the title of the movie is spelled wrong in the opening credits. He also left out one of the actors' names in the "starring" list, the actor who also just happened to be the producer of the film...). Anyway, I had taken a bunch of my still shots and used them to make a "making of" video using my SF song "A Variation on Two." In my end credits, I listed "music by King Arthur / http://www.songfight.org " and one of the guys in class said, "you're a songfighter? I keep thinking about wanting to do that, but I never get around to it..." So maybe we'll pick up a new participant, although he's also the guy who refused to show his project in class yesterday because "I'm not happy with it, and I don't let other people see my work until I'm satisfied with what I've done." So he may have a tough time around here...
Breakfast has just been coffee so far, but my mom's pool therapy class goes out to a Mexican restaurant after class on Tuesdays, so I'll be getting a big lunch, and we had a big Indian (Bombay potatoes, stew, nan) at home last night. [edit: make that a big Indian dinner last night]
I'm kinda in the mood to do some recording today, but I still don't have what I'd consider a worthy idea for "Paris." Maybe I'll just get "Evil April" mixed down (I keep planning to do that and then getting distracted with other stuff) or something. Take my mom to pool class and lunch, take those shaggy self-portraits and get a haircut... actually, I guess a lot of today's goals and plans are the goals and plans I didn't get done yesterday...

My breakfast: A bowl of Frosted Flakes and some Thomas' English Toasting Bread.
Today so far has been a long boring train ride where I began to wonder what I'm going to do musically. My band, KBS, has been in dire straits from the get go and with Luke away for the summer, we are on hiatus. So I wrote some ideas on what to do next. Then I went to work and as I expected last week, heads are beginning to roll around here. So I'm just ducking and covering and trying to get through the day.

Breakfast: Cup of tea (out of coffee, and pondering weaning myself off the devil's urine, yet again) and a cigarette.
High point of morning thus far: Looking forward to laying down acoustic drums for the Nur Ein entry.
Low point of morning thus far: Seeing my upstairs neighbor's car parked out front. She's usually at work by now. Now I've got to get them done tonight after I get home from work, damnit.

Hello SF'ers.
Breakfast = One of those saucer sized cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing that are so big, you have to eat it with a fork, nuked for 20 seconds and slathered with butter, two cups of coffee.
Probably have to skip lunch today.
Made good headway on my round 1 song last night.
Start recording vox tonight.
Got to run.
Live, Love, Rock.
Chris, signing ooot.

The day has been odd. But not extraordinary enough to mention. I'm about to make a Mix CD for a friend who asks me for music I think is genius....
I also joined Facebook, thanks to a request from my sister. I looked around and already the thing makes me wanna gouge out my eyes. It's like myspace as done by the makers of One Hour Photo. Creepy ass soulless place.

Leg hurts! Hate job!
I've been wondering what a guitar would sound like if it had a wooden C shape, that arched over the strings, with a pickup wired into it, so it was listening from the opposite side, you know? So you'd have a pickup on both sides of the strings.
I wonder what every combination would sound like. SC on body, hanging humbucker, sustainer above, p-90 below, and so on.
I need henchmen.
Also: Heather turned down loaning the kids to gypsies so we could lay in bed eating corn dogs and watching star wars and stuff and stuff. This morning. Turned it down. In favor of going to work.
So basically, the world makes no sesne.

Breakfast: 3 cups of coffee, half a packet of cheap Tesco's own Rich Tea biscuits, somewhere in the region of 5 cigarettes (cheap cigarettes!)
Picked up some photographs from Jessops up the City Centre, spent £30 on new wiper blades for the car, went and saw my Sister, had a chat about comics with my eldest nephew, deposited some money into the bank (Whoopee!).
Lunch: More coffee, more cigarettes!! and a Mars bar.
Went to work for 4 hours (it's my day off, though I still do overtime on it )
Dinner: Some mess of beans, hot dogs and rice that was.... ok!
Mastered up Phil Wages Party at Kp's track, sounds nice and round!
Read Omega Flight #1, pretty good!!
Didn't meet anyone famous

Breakfast: Muesli and bran with saltanas in it. Fibre is your friend.
Scanned a bunch of photos for Legs last night. Its her dads 50th birthday soon, so she is making the old photo board. Apparently you can't beat the classics.
I am just too tired to be at work. I wonder if they'll notice if i just take a nap? We used to have a Sales guy who would lay under his desk and have a kip. He had his own office, though, so it would kind of work for him. I'm in a communal work area, so I think the other Monkeys would notice if I am snoozing under the desk. I also think they wouldn't think twice about kicking me while I'm down there. Not out of spite, just because they can.
