Yawn. Good morning everyone.

Today in Niv Land will include our first trip to the local library. We have not seen it since moving into suburbia. I've heard it's quite the sight. I also hope to get some laundry done as well as the third edition of The Other Night I Dreamt Of Knives.

Question of the Day:
What's your favorite music video of all time? (Please provide a link for viewing purposes, if possible)

This question is really difficult for me because I love music videos so much. (I wish that Songfight had music videos, that would be a blast.) It's a hard choice and I'll probably wanna change my answer as the day goes by. Right now, I'll say "Obstacle #1" by Interpol. The video was done by Floria Sigismondi who does beautiful music videos. Obstacle is simple, has great cinematography. It's compelling and the end of the video wraps it up nicely.

Well, I don't see videos any more or at least so little as to count as none. But from the first years of MTV, when I was the perfect age for their whole bit and watched it over my first girlfriends house, is this : Pretenders - Talk Of The Town Not a great video, but the first one that I thought of and one of my favorite songs of all time. I do like the black and white and 60's tv show appraoch to it. But I guess this is a sentimental fave more'n anything.

I made CDs of my fave songs I did this past February and today am going to do a line drawing on the cover of each. The drawing will be a picture of who I'm giving the CD to. Good cheesy fun! Plus a good excuse to fart around while watching the Red Sox later in the day.
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

QotD: Girls On Film. (The uncensored version)

This video was popular at a time when porn was still magical to me and I still thought it was dirty and mysterious.

The video isn't porn exactly but the uncensored version ventures into eroticism a little. For a boy of 10 or 11...well, it was awesome. The memory association relative to the time still lingers when I hear the song.

The Fat Boy Slim video with Christophor Walken is pretty good too. Weapon of Choice.

Woke up at 11:10 with lots of dreams still swimming in my head. Gonna go get some coffee and figure out how to use my day wisely.

Happy Sunday Morn'n all
I'm in a good mood...for some reason
I made the Fam breakfast before everyone went in their different directions
My famous huevos rancheros
With charizo, potatoes and onion
Bloody Shirley Temples (Bloody Marry minus the vodz)
Got a grasp on my round 5 song last night
Didn't get my Mexican food, nor my Franco American Spaghetti O's yesterday
But made some killer BBQ chicken and mushroom rice
Watched Hannibal Rising, awesome
That guy they got to play Hannibal was perfect!
He could play a young joker in a Bat Man movie for sure
Heating the pool
Going to kick it with my honey poopz later this afternoon
Hopefully do a little dance, make a little love, and, well, you know the rest
You can't see me right now, but I'm doing the robot in anticipation
Live, Love, Rock

Oh, almost forgot
QOTD:
The first thing that came to mind was the Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star
I don't know why. But I just watched the video right now and I still love that song and vid. :?
I think I'm a closet homo that only likes vagina's and boobies
....oh crap, I've said too much *click*

Home sick again. I'm worried about my health and my job. I was getting breakfast before work and ended up having to rush to the bathroom where I then puked violently. Gross.

My favorite music video of all time is: Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker" by Chris Cunningham. It is painfully genius and long as hell, but well worth the time spent.

edit - there are a lot of swears and n-bombs, so beware who you play this around.

Windowlicker is just plain messed up. Not my favorite though.
My favorite would have to be Raste Raste from the Bollywood musical, "Road."

I randomly caught it on television one day when I was sick... I happened to be recording it, God knows why...
And I have watched it hundreds of times, no exaggeration.

EDIT:
Linked to correct video, not remix.

Ah, yes, i.p.'s story reminds me of a favorite video - I had a spell there where I was trying to catch the video programs on the Spanish stations here in Phoenix, and one day I managed to tape almost all of this really cool song... all of it except the bit at the start where they print who the artist is. I was pretty sure they song was called "Chicas" and the artist was something like "Succo" or something. After asking a bunch of Latino/a friends who had never heard of it, and even loaning the videotape to my Spanish-speaking sister-in-law, I was in Tower one day and decided to check the "Z" section of the world music department, and discovered the artist: "Zucchero," which is Italian for "sugar." He does songs in Spanish, Italian and English. "Chicas" is Spanish for "girls," and the song is all about "chicas... do do do... en busca de problemas..." ("girls... looking for trouble").

Around the same time, I was listening to the Spanish radio station one day and they had this song on that was really, really good, and I just had time to write down the name of that one... "Magarena" or something. Anybody ever heard of that one ??? :-)

Also, I'm eagerly awaiting the announcement of the 2nd part of this weeks fight.
If it has been announced, can someone direct me to it? I've been checking regularly and haven't seen anything, but just thought I may have missed it...

Have you been watching that horrible remix video you linked to? Or the actual video?

oh boy. I just looked it up on youtube and linked. Indeed, the version I posted DOES suck. The original is far better. Thanks for catching that.

Hello everyone! I'm a late arrival today. After we went out last night and saw Hot Fuzz (an awsome movie that I would recommend to anyone! Well, anyone cool at least), we came home and watched Pirate Master (aka Booty Snatch) and the American version of Creature Comforts. I can't decide if I like the US or UK version better. We drank some beer and stayed up late.

Since the kids weren't here to wake us up, we slept until 3pm. I got up and went to pick up the kids, dropped 'em off at home and then went to Target and grocery shopping. Now it's now.

So, I don't know if it's my favorite video of all time, but it's the first one that came to mind. It always makes me smile and reminds me of when 120 minutes on MTV was good. True Faith by New Order

Nope.

My first thought was for A-ha - Take On Me - this was the coolest video ever, in 1985... the combination of animation and live was very cool. I'm sticking with that.
