Who'd be interested in a Blondie sidefight? I can't get their fuckin' songs out of my head right now, I have to cover something of theirs.

Here's the covers!
Bloodberries and Cream doing Call Me
Paco del Stinko doing Dreaming
Sven (me) doing I Know But I Don't Know
BLT, Featuring Anti-M and Steve Durand doing The Tide is High

I called it first! But, yeah, multiple interpretations of this fine song are welcome. Just, y'know, realise that Blondie had some other great songs, too. (Dreaming, Hangin' on the Telephone, etc)

I was fully expecting this, and yes, how's about Feb 15th (my birthday. And Bjam's, too)

Oh yeah count me in, for feb. 'Rip Her To Shreds' sounds appealing or maybe 'Denis Denis' ... unless there's a song anyone would rather hear me do ...

Hmm. I'm only familiar with the stuff that was on the radio. So I guess I'm not a true 'fan', but I'm not gonna do nerdcore on it either. Maybe I could give One Way Or Another a shot. But man, I'd love to hear The Hell Yeahs run that one off instead. :D

Damn, that is a good band name! Plus it starts with A, so it would be one of the first names in the yellow pages. :P

I will probably do Atomic, even though somene else has 'called' it. Or I will do Call Me. Or I will flake out and do nothing, as usual. Oh, if I feel like taking the piss I might do Heart Of Glass :).

I don't even know why I'm still typing at this point.

I kind of wanted to claim "Call Me" when I saw this, but then I decided to wait it out, possibly so that someone else would call it, to keep my level of commitment as low as possible or something. I don't really understand what I was doing. So we have a sort of 'maybe I'll do it instead of this other one I really want to do, but I might not do anything.' I guess that's the best I'm going to get. So hey. Sign me up or something. I'll actually look for other songs I could do between now and then, but for now, that's really the only one I could see myself doing.

You don't have to sign up, or 'call' any songs. (I was just messing with BLT) Feel free to do whatever song you want, if you want. I'll host MP3s, and make a page, which will go live around Feb 15/08, so make sure you get your completed song to me by then. That's the only requirements. I kind of hate sidefights where you have to commit, because then you have the burden of having to do it. Covering an artist's work should be an act of love or admiration, not a chore.

All that said, I'm really, *really* hoping there will be a few of their more obscure songs covered :)

This was the one I seriously considered doing. Probably my second favorite Blondie tune. In fact I think I'd like to do that collab we were talking about :)

Ah shit!.... I too have been shying away from posting on this, not because I was waiting to see who called what, but because I really want to do this but a part of me says "Don't, you'll mess up a brilliant song", but I'm going to commit to attampting to do one of my all time favourite tracks...

(I'm Always Touched by Your) Presence, Dear

...although I will definately do it, I won't post it if it's crap!
